Hi all! I’m repairing a Beomaster 6500 for a friend, and thinking the unit may well be fine, just missing the Line in/ Out dummy plug. If I plug an input into that din socket the pre & power amps both seem to work fine. Just no sound when using any of the other inputs, Aux, Tape 1 & 2, CD & Phono. I gather a dummy plug is needed to bridge the other inputs to the pre/power amp.

I’ve researched purchase options but can’t find any on offer anywhere. TBH I get the feeling that it would probably straightforward to make one using a 5 pin DIN plug. Does anyone know the correct wiring for this, what bridging is needed for the pins?

    Hi and welcome to Beoworld.

Yes a dummy plug is needed.  If you make your own you need to connect DIN pin 1 to 3, and 4 to 5.

Pins are numbered as shown here: (7 pin DIN shown)

You can see the connections in the original plug in the photo: (click to enlarge – sorry it’s a bit blurred)
