Does anybody know the different updates made to the Beolink Passive over the years (e.g. removal front LED)? What is serial of last production year?
23 June 2024 at 11:57 #56948Not able to answer your questions, but have an input based on the Beolink Passive and ML/MCL converter I have:
My Beolink Passive has the LED and power button and the serial number is 142373xx, so from year 2000 (source https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/serial-number-and-date-of-manufacture/ )
My ML/MCL converter does not have a visible LED (it is still in there and can be seen through the grill in the cabinet) and no power button. It has serial number 194461xx so from year 2006
Hope this might be usefull, and maybe others can chime in with info from their products to narrow down the period where it was changed
23 June 2024 at 13:55 #56950Hello Erik & Madskp, I do own two of these Passives, the one that is with me (in storage) is 204957XX and has no button or external LED.
The other one is staying with my father in law, I will try not to forget to check its numbers next time I am over.
Regards, Johan
24 June 2024 at 18:45 #56984My only accessible Passive is Type No 1657 with SW1.4. It does have the switch and the serial number is 162812XX.
Also, I think that the SW versions may have similarity with BL Active – i.e needs SW1.5 for A.AUX and SW1.6 for MLGW compatibility (There’s probably SW version details in one of the archived forums)
24 June 2024 at 19:02 #56986Another source for narrowing down when the button and LED was removed is to do an Ebay search for Beolink Passive and ML/MCL converter. A lot of sellers have pictures that show both the front and the sticker with the serial number.
