So I just made a couple of cables for my BeoLab 3 as I want them connected to a volume controlled pre-out amp.

I made two of the marked cables in this diagram.

Kan være et billede af ‎tekst, der siger "‎In Stel LINE adapter. (B1) AudioHojre. Audio Hejre. Stereo Peter Pam. Lydretning .۔۔--..... ............. Audio Venstre. LINE adapter. (B2) Stel Peter Pan. Lydretning Audio Hojre. ................. Mono LINE adapter. (B3) Stel ← Lydretning Audio Venstre. Perter Par. Mono LINE adapter. (B2+B3) Peter Prto+Pem. Pam. Stel ← Lydretning Audio Venstre. H.V.- H.V.-Mono Mono ー一 Audio Hajre.‎"‎

I don’t know if this is correct, or I should just have made a Left and Right (B2 and B3).

Does the Beolab 3 care if it gets a left signal in both pin 5 and 3? And a right signal on the same pins on the other speaker?

I can just cut the signal for pin 5 on the right speaker cable, and pin 3 on the left if this is a problem.

If using with the selector switch in the L or R setting I would not be concerned about such a double input, because the BL3500 will only amplify one or the other.

However, if as I suspect you are using the switch in the line setting, to be on the safe side I would cut the cables as suggested in your last sentence.  I say this because I am unsure how the line detection ‘auto-switch on’ works and decides which pin to amplify.  The auto-sense logic could be ‘L or R but not both’ – or it could be looking at the difference between L and R to switch on.  Just a thought, and perhaps others will know for sure!
