hi i have a late 80’s Beosystem 2500 – the tape mechanism suddenly stopped working – after new belts were fitted I noticed this spring was loose for the head mechanism – does anyone know how it attaches ?
    Thanks

As the head can spin 180 degrees does anyone know what position it should be in default ? if I look directly at the tape player from the front with the head at the bottom is the default position all the way to left or right position ?

    thanks

There is not one fixed position… there are 2 !

It’s an “either or” position. The spring shall fix it in side 1 or side 2.

It’s an over the peak snap construction.

Just snap it in the gap next to the teeth…

The gear does only the movement, the head has it’s own justage … see the red stuff? This is for the head position.

The gear should only be in something symmetrical end position when switching side 1 – 2

I think there is one tooth wrong… just 1 tooth in endposition looks a little bit weak overlap… how does ist look in the other position? 3 Teeth?
