      I recently got a Beocenter 9000, Beovox CX100 and Beolink 1000.

Beolink seems to work fine, just needs a clean

CX100 need refoaming as they are totally perished

Beocenter 9000 operates, but has a few problems

      • Damaged spring for the CD spindle
        • Anyone know how I could repair this?
      • Missing feet
        • Anyone know of a replacement?
      • CD door does not open
        • Motor runs
        • Door does not open more than half way using the manual screwdriver method

Whilst I have it apart, should I replace any components or capacitors?

I have a Beomaster 2300 which I replaced the caps which improved it a lot.

Maybe have a look at this thread for some help with the doors – the BC9000 has the same system as the BC9500:

          https://beoworld.org/forums/topic/my-beocenter-9500-restoration/

Whilst you have it apart I would replace the door motor drive belts, the backup battery and probably the tape deck belt(s).

EDIT:  CD spindle was discussed here: https://beoworld.org/forums/topic/cd-spindle-for-beocenter-9000/

I opened the unit and spotted a CD spindle spring trapped beneath the CD player.

I carefully removed the drive and the spring was intact along with the cap.  So I have a spare cap as well now 🙂PXL_20230822_202621390

              Hi Guy,

Yes it was, thank you.  I think my problem with the CD door is that the cord seems to have been lubed in the past which is causing it to wrap over Itself.

I upgraded my account to silver, but I can’t find where the service manuals are on the site.  Any chance you could point me towards them please?

Where did you get your cord from?

Luckily I had a door string repair kit that I purchased by chance many years ago – I show a picture of it (including the part number) in this post:  https://beoworld.org/forums/topic/my-beocenter-9500-restoration/page/2/#post-19613

I doubt that you will find a repair kit now, but you could give AVA Services a call to see if they can help.  Otherwise you may have to experiment with new cord – the main requirement will be to cut and tie knots at the exact length of the old cord in order to keep the same tension with the cord routing shown in the manual.

I cleaned the string with some waterbased degreaser in an ultrasonic bath, and it now works well.

I replaced the lithium battery, but I now need to replace the capacitor on the CD as it has some strange behaviour
