but seems beosound not detecting the remote. The beosound is functioning like new, but cannot get remote to work with it,any help please
25 June 2023 at 06:20 #47366Hi and welcome to Beoworld!
The BS9000 may be in A.OPT 0, where it will not respond to IR commands.
To resolve this:
Turn to standby/off.
On the Beo4, press the POWER button and LIST together. Then press LIST until OPTION is shown, press GO (centre button), and then press LIST to show A.OPT. Then press 1. The power light on the BS9000 may blink to show that it has been accepted.
Remote control should then work.
EDIT: By the way, A.OPT 0 is automatically selected if no speakers are connected to the BS9000

I have the same issue with a beocenter 9500 and a 5000 Remote control. No response when using the remote. Whether the speakers are connected or not.
Regards

If the BeoLink 5000 remote is working you should be able to set the BC9500 to A.OPT1 by using the remote to press SOUND 1 STORE (where the store button is on the rear).
EDIT: You should do this whilst the BC9500 is at stand-by (powered down but connected to mains).
Location: Warwickshire, UKMy B&O Icons:11 December 2024 at 14:18 #61491Thank you Guy,
currently i get the code display when powered on and it remains dormant for hours and then comes to life, but as the glass panels are both lose it cant be controlled manually and seems to be on some kind a timer (it was my friends dads who has passed away) so im trying to reset it some how and bring it back to life, as its complete with original speakers turntable etc. (pic to follow once ive dusted it off)
one Query is i have 2 remote controls beolink 1000 and beolink 5000 and im wondering what models the beolink 1000 controls? Thanks
11 December 2024 at 15:34 #61493The BL1000 should be fine for controlling the BC9500 also. You can check that a remote is transmitting by viewing the end with an iPhone selfie camera.
If the BC9500 displays CODE, you should then use the BL1000 to press 1271 and then disconnect the Beoxenter from the mains for a minute. A frequent display of code suggests that the microprocessors backup battery needs replacing.

did the 1000 remote come with a unit as standard? would it control a beosound 9000 i wonder?
as ive been asked but have no idea.
and is it easy to factory reset the 9500?
very grateful for your advice.

The BL1000 was the standard ‘workhorse’ remote for many years and was supplied with many B&O systems. It will control the BS9000.
The BL5000 was offered with systems that allowed two-way remote control, such as BC9500.
if fully working and set in two-way mode, you should be able to use the BL5000 to remove any timers set on the BC9500.
It would be worth having a good read of the BC9500 and BL1000 user manuals.
I am away from home at the moment so can advise about BC9500 reset tomorrow, but if you have the service manual it explains how to enter test mode by shorting two pins under the lower panel.

Did you try that code reset 1271 procedure?
Location: Warwickshire, UKMy B&O Icons:11 December 2024 at 16:23 #61497Hi i did try the 1271 a few times but no joy as yet, ill have to download and read the manual to find out a bit more. thanks for the tips its a bit of a rabbit hole but im enjoying it, thanks for your help. 🙂
11 December 2024 at 16:33 #61498I think that you might have to press GO or PLAY after the 1 2 7 1, and then unplug the system for a bit.

11 December 2024 at 17:11 #61500no joy at the moment, its staying in “code” mode,
i did notice as ive tried it with the beo 5000 remote, that the display on the remote says “no contact” no matter what i do. very odd

11 December 2024 at 17:19 #61502When batteries are replaced in the BL5000 it defaults to two-way IR mode. If the two-way functionality in the remote is faulty ( usually due to faulty capacitors) then it will display ‘no contact’.
If you follow the instructions in the BL5000 manual to put it into one-way mode then it should still work to control the BC9500, but you will not be able to carry out advanced programming such as clearing timers.
Location: Warwickshire, UKMy B&O Icons:11 December 2024 at 17:30 #61504Thank you I’ll look into it,plus I still have the beolink 1000 as a back up remote,thanks again 😀
