Beocentre 2300 – doors do not sense hand and won’t open

Was given this by relative, not used for some while.

First few times worked fine, but now doors do not sense hand and won’t open. No sound or whirring, just nothing.

All works fine with remote, but cannot open the doors. Getting bored of the one CD it came with!

Thank you for advice.

PS it was quite dusty when delivered, wondering if sensors can get blocked?
