stotty1111GOLD MemberThanks Tignum for your kind words!!😜
stotty1111GOLD MemberThanks for the suggestion, don’t think its a failed cable as it is loose across the attic to an amp and then a diplexer to the tv, the other service, radio, did not show any signs of probs!

stotty1111GOLD MemberThanks Guy,
Yes I had tried that but it wouldn’t ‘stick’ so to speak, just tried again and held the select button down until it reset so my fault I wasn’t pressing the button long enough!
Again, a big thanks👍
stotty1111GOLD MemberHave now finished setting up the tv, just checked the Monitor Info area and the Build 127 is now back to black — maybe it’s a no programs loaded thing?

stotty1111GOLD MemberEt voila!!!😃
Switched on this morning, still the same situation, looked at the BnO menu page, went to
options, tv setup, ticked both boxes then clicked on DVB and the world opened up.
Could choose language country satellite etc.
And after the next click everything started to reload, after reload had finished rebooted tv and french tv was available and with the sideways arrow to the right freesat came up — BRILLIANT, —- I am now a happy bunny!!
I now just need to recreate my personal channel list, a bit of a ballacher, takes a couple of hours, but hey what’s that over paymens to a distant repairer!!!
Monitor info still showing Build 127 in red, I think I can live with that though!😉

I also contacted BnO Tech Support, they have given me a Historic BnO repairer but they are 350miles away near Rouen – last resort I think to visit, I will mail them tomorrow to ask if they have any suggestions / solutions to try.
Meanwhile I will try to locate my list of engineering settings prepared earlier in the year to compare with now – it would also give me the working Build number.

stotty1111GOLD MemberA little more info:-
MONITOR INFORMATION
Type No 9570
Item No 1847431
Serial No 22073022
Option setting 1
Build 127(shown in RED)
PRODUCT TYPE
Mechanical Type BV 10-40

LCD Panel Type LTA400HG01
The set is fitted with a digital satellite card and a terrestrial card, tuned to UK Freesat and French TNT respectively
stotty1111GOLD MemberJust had a couple of minutes to try the functionality with the connected PC, that works, so, i think it points to the tv section!
Back at it tonight or tomorrow, its a bit time dependant!
stotty1111GOLD MemberAs ever many thanks for your answer!!
stotty1111GOLD MemberSo, after some thought, I unplugged all connections , gave plugs and sockets a squirt of contact and switch cleaner and reconnected all, and as the french would say — et voila — all now works again!
I don’t understand why though!
stotty1111GOLD MemberThanks for the IPA useage link, I’ll give it a go! I suppose it should work on a BS4 body as well!
And the belt replacements, yes, you gave me some leads late last year when I did them, I have not rebuilt the unit as yet, but hopefully, later today or tomorrow, I have been busy building a model of a Pilot boat based at Hartlepool, it is radio controlled and is for steering competition use here in France!
stotty1111GOLD MemberYes that’s it, but I was looking for ‘recommenations’ for the settings.
stotty1111GOLD MemberThanks for the info Guy!
I didn’t remember resetting anything in the monitor settings so I had a ferret around in the options.
Found the problem, it was in the TV setup section, because I have terrestrial and also satellite digital I need to have both options ‘ticked’, somehow the terrestrial option had become unticked, I re ticked it and yes in the Picture list the size option had reappeared so an easy job selecting the correct picture size!
Just discovered the same problem with my 10-32, same solution brought a resolution!
Now a happy bunny again, have been building a 1:12 scale Pilot launch recently, or finishing it off after the covid debacle etc so now hopefully back to things B&O
Tony
stotty1111GOLD MemberI ahve recently done this, a bit of a faff producing a means of holding the screen at the desired angle, also neded to fabricate a short conversion lead to enable the7-32 stand to be controlled by the tv, Guy gave me details of the lead.
Where are you? there has been a 10-40 mount on french ebay recently for about 150€ if i remember correctly
Good luck
Tony
stotty1111GOLD MemberUpdate, the Ouverteur has lost all the radio settings again. so, its time to replace the battery I think!
Also, the tape deck is still working well so I will leave it alone on this occaision.
stotty1111GOLD MemberSo, after a long delay, I have gathered all the pieces together to replace the battery , the tape drive belt etc as I have a spare weekend!
So, I thought last evening that I would fire the Ouverture up, did so, and low and behold it all works again, even the defunct tape unit!
So, after almost 12 months sitting in a corner disconnected to the mains , any thoughts / explanations out there?
I think under the circumstances I will use it until problems re emerge.
T
stotty1111GOLD MemberThanks both for the leads
stotty1111GOLD MemberSo my ‘o’ rings are 3mm diam, I assume they will not work, I as yet haven’t opened the BC up
That will be later in the week.
Meanwhile, I have ordered some 25mm id x 1.5mm diam rings, they should also be here later in the week!
Have a great festive season all who read this!!
stotty1111GOLD MemberI will check tomorrow when i visit the model boat club, I have a box of ‘o’rings where i probably have the appropriate size, courtoisy of Lidl!
stotty1111GOLD MemberOk, thanks
