I resolded everything on the neckboard. Unfortunately it did not solve my problem. Next step I will try to switch my transistors for green and red and see if the screen turns red instead. Otherwise i’m afraid I will have to reflow the mainboard as well and in case that doesnt work, it’s probably dead. I will update here whenever I do progress as I do not have access to soldering equipment outside of work.

Thanks for the helpful tips! I will try your method by poking with chopsticks. Any good advice for discharge before resoldering? Also, do I need to remove the neckboard to resolder or can I keep it as it is when I resolder?

Update: nothing moved or changed while poking the parts and soldering. But it must be something wrong with my TR2 as well as my flickering is green. Either dry joints or the transistor is about to die, is my best guess. I will resolder on Friday with the help of a friend. I’ll let you know if it worked. Thank you so far!

Do you remember which of the joints it was for you. Also do you see anything bad here? They look good to me, but yeah maybe worth resolder all. Do I need to discharge it before I do that? Sorry total novice here.

    Hi David,

I have the exact same issue on my mx4000 according to what I saw on your video. Did you resolve the issue?

    Regards
