Splitter is inverted “Y” with one “branch” immediately coming from the BM7000, the other RJ45 from the converter and the stem off to the speaker. (BL50)

If there is a conflict wiring this way I wonder if I could leave the powerlink connected to the 7000 and connect the converter via USB or RCA to the speaker thereby choosing a different input?

    Boy this is temperamental!

2 reboots of everything and it is up and working again. But I have had to connect the speakers to the Beoconverter which I did not want to do as I want to be able to control the 7000 independant of the NL connection too. I put a powerlink splitter in the connection so now it works but there is feedback and latency coming through!

Thanks for the responses. It is so confusing. I tried the BC2 again and no issues at all. Without changing anything I connect to 1611/7000 and it’s dead!

I have tried all ML options. I have unplugged/depowered etc etc. Just nothing.

    This is my setup…

Hej Guy. Yes 7 PIN datalink. I have tried two of them now.  I just disconnected the Powerlink cable as per your suggestion. Still no joy!

Via the Beocentre 2 I know the required signals are getting to the end of the ML cable. But it is going wrong from 1611 converter to Beomaster 7000?

I now suspect the 7000 is in a wrong mode somehow but I have tried them all. ‘Very odd?

I had Beolab Penta 2’s for many years. I loved them but they were always a little lacking in deep bass. Eventually I purchased a Beolab 2 for them. Whilst I would accept it made a noticable difference I have an inherant hatred for subwoofers so it didn’t last long. It’s just too unatural for me. All Penta midranges need refurbishing in time. It’s a easy job to do over a couple of days. Get the best condition you can. Particularly the stainless steel and fabric as these are no longer available. I sold mine in as new condition (they were never touched by the human hand) in their original boxes way too cheap!

After the last software upgrade to the Connect Core it has been much more stable with connection. Then, last week it happened again. So, better yes, but not perfect yet.

As for Beolab 50 issues…just don’t get me started.

The B&O app is a huge contibutor to all these issues. 2-3 years ago it was THE cause of so many of the BL50 issues I experienced yet my dealer and B&O insisted it was  all my internet connection. They were wrong, I was right! It too has improved but still not perfect. Make sure everything is running the latest software.

I have those cables no issue there. Doing more research I see you have to connect the speakers to the NL/ML Converter and not the Beomaster. Am I right in assuming that using a Beo4 or other I/R controller on the 7000 would not swich on active speakers or can that also be used?

Yes that is what I thought. But I still maintain cabling will be an issue? Steve at SH doesn’t have anything suitable on his website. Perhaps I’ll drop him a line.

That looks fantastic! ‘Just what I am trying to achieve. I need to get a Beolink NL/ML Converter. ‘Working on it already.

The Beomaster 7000 needs to be controlled through the “speaker 2” 4 pin DIN Datalink outlets by the converter by the look of it?

How are you connecting to the NL/ML converter? I have a Masterlink/Datalink converter which I think may be required but connecting to that, 2X 4 pin DIN to  1 8-pin DIN looks like an impossible cable?

Are you playing the BS9000/ 7000CD through a core? I am interested to see how you have connected up? And how are you selecting source? I have the new Halo update. I don’t see any numbers anywhere?

    Carolpa.

Excuse me, but are you saying that you can control BS9000 with the Halo? How?

Again Beoconnect Core lost all connectivity and the only option is to reboot via power. Result?… Beolab 50 removed from the app! Many attempts to reconnect all resulted in failure. Yet the Connect Core can see them. The app refuses to.

If you are trying to sell something you really cannot expect a sensible response if you cannot be bothered to ask a price!

I guess BL50 just don’t have the visual impact that other B&O products have? Millemissen… Only 2 visitors have heard them. Neither made any comment! Nothing! So I can safely say no-one has been impressed by them? When I had my Pentas absolutely everyone was raving and jeolous as. I think there is an arguement for a sound that exceeds the speaker’s appearance?

BL6000 do this. I think the Pentas did too? The BL50’s? Perhaps not? But notwithstanding the audio experience, people just don’t “see” them.

They just see “a pair of speakers?”

I can get the Beolab 28 situation…. They are for sure more interesting? I even considered an exchange. But there is a sound quality penalty too much for me.

Like the original Core you simply store which volume level you want it to remember. Simple.

I have just replaced my Core (now for sale) with Beoconnect Core. Connected to Beolab 50’s via USB-C/ USB-B. Previously the Core was connected via optical.  I thought the Core performed very well. The Beoconnect Core does sound nicer though. It’s a Core with bonuses. Whether it’s worth the extra investment though?

Well that didn’t work at all. New battery fitted but still the problem exists. It also is now apparent when on it’s charger.

I think I will have to hand it over to my engineer?

Yes that is what I am thinking too as it was working just fine before being laid up for a few months. I have ordered a new battery which should be here next week. This must be the 4th time I have changed the battery on this BL7000 but all the previous occasions the unit went into “flashing” mode. Hence my reasoning that it was not the usual problem? We’ll see?
