I am sure any would now be well overdue a refoam and possibly an amplifier rebuild? I had the 2’s. They sounded massively superior to the 1’s to my ears. I don’t think there was any sound improvement to the 3’s, just the display in green. (The 2’s looked better.) I would avoid the 1’s, (not even powerlink possible) but 2/3’s with a complete rebuild should be the same?
He did my MMC2 a few years ago. If you upgrade, the MMC number become irrelevent. I was upgraded to nude Shibata. Even though it says MMC2 on the cartridge it now knocks the socks off an original MMC1. It really is a case of the more you spend the better it gets.
It works just great. But there is a marked reduction in sound quality. I heavily suspected this would happen.
Carolpa.
You are a genius!!!!
I had multiroom selected off on the Core.
It is now all there. I am so happy!
Thank you so much. :))))))))

Beoconnect Core yes. You are correct I have BV11, Beoconnect Core and Converter NL/ML all on one network. Beolab 50’s also on the same network connected to the Beoconnect Core via USB-C.
Beosystem 7000 is connected to a 1611. That in turn ML to the Converter NL/ML. Also set as V master.
All are on the B&O app.
So everything makes sense right up until “link the core.” It will not. “Could not expand experience.”
I think I was suffering from finger trouble with the Beo4? Sources need to be selected first. With the Beolink 7000 it knows the source… the Beomaster 7000 tells it.
I will bear your suggestion of an I/R sensor in mind but I am not sure about having the main connection between Beomaster 7000 and Beolab 50 going through multiple conversions and cables and units. I feel much more comfortable having a direct powerlink from the master to the speakers. But it may be an option?
The Beolab 50’s have multiple inputs. I am currently using 3 of them… Wired powerlink from the 7000. Wireless powerlink from a Beovision 11 and USB C from a Connectcore. Previously I was using optical also. They automatically switch between sources and have a priority so I am not worried about 2 sources being fed simultaniously. The speakers work that out and illiminate all bar one.
On the face of it as long as the internal wiring of the adapter I have ordered is correct it should work?
Then again, I was saying that 3 weeks ago when this started. ???
Thank you so much Guy (s) for your inputs.
I have managed to “unmute” the sound using the Beolink 7000. ‘Not sure why that would not work with the Beo4? The system then is fully controllable via I/R and the Beoconverter will control sources/tracks etc. but again no volume. As the purpose of all of this is to control the 7000 via a Halo (which is essentially a volume control) the project is failing badly?
I am coming to the conclusion that it may not be possible for the Beoconverter to interact with a Beomaster output, only source selection.
As a last ditch effort I have ordered an RJ45 – RCA lead to connect the Converter powerlink outlet to the RCA input of my Beolab 50’s. Thereby treating it as a seperate source.
The 50’s are blessed with the ability to differentiate between inputs and only allows one at a time with automatic switching.
My worry now is that the converter’s output is powerlink not just a speaker outlet so the new wiring connections may not be correct? We will find out tomorrow night when it arrives!!!!!!!!
I’ll keep you posted.

No that doesn’t help. The Beoconverter NL/ML I have just purchased new. It came sealed in it’s box. It has had no previous owner. However I have reset it and started again. All to no avail! There is no 7000 option. But regardless of this I have tried every conceivable combination of setup options and the best I can do is controlling all the 7000 functions except volume. There is none! The display on my Beolink 7000 shows speakers muted but if I “unmute” them with I/R it does not work. So yes it all works except all I hear is silence!
Hej Carolpa.
Thanks for the advice. Here are the issues…
There is no Beosystem 7000 as an option in “experienced mapped”. I have selected Beosound 9000 as the nearest option.
Everything is being controlled through the Halo but there is no sound. The powerlink is not active from the 7000. On the app settings page I have to select “with speakers” or it will not even control. The only other option is ML Audiomaster.
I am wondering if the software needs to be updated on the BC? It is running 1.4.3.19611 and I know there is an update but updates are no longer supported.
Any ideas?
All I am trying to do is control the 7000 via NL so I can use the Halo with it. But I must maintain the I/R control alongside.
I am almost there. I just need to sort out speaker connections. I would prefer not to use the powerlink on the BC and just keep the powerlink on the 7000. Is this possible?
Splitter is inverted “Y” with one “branch” immediately coming from the BM7000, the other RJ45 from the converter and the stem off to the speaker. (BL50)
If there is a conflict wiring this way I wonder if I could leave the powerlink connected to the 7000 and connect the converter via USB or RCA to the speaker thereby choosing a different input?
Boy this is temperamental!
2 reboots of everything and it is up and working again. But I have had to connect the speakers to the Beoconverter which I did not want to do as I want to be able to control the 7000 independant of the NL connection too. I put a powerlink splitter in the connection so now it works but there is feedback and latency coming through!
Yes I am back to V. Master and just had it all functioning. Now nothing again!
Wooh! Somethign jst happened.
Thanks for the responses. It is so confusing. I tried the BC2 again and no issues at all. Without changing anything I connect to 1611/7000 and it’s dead!
I have tried all ML options. I have unplugged/depowered etc etc. Just nothing.
This is my setup…

You must be logged in to view attached files.Hej Guy. Yes 7 PIN datalink. I have tried two of them now. I just disconnected the Powerlink cable as per your suggestion. Still no joy!
Via the Beocentre 2 I know the required signals are getting to the end of the ML cable. But it is going wrong from 1611 converter to Beomaster 7000?
I now suspect the 7000 is in a wrong mode somehow but I have tried them all. ‘Very odd?
13 January 2025 at 10:34 in reply to: Beolab Penta MK3 Purchase and Adding a Beolab 2 Subwoofer? #62567I had Beolab Penta 2’s for many years. I loved them but they were always a little lacking in deep bass. Eventually I purchased a Beolab 2 for them. Whilst I would accept it made a noticable difference I have an inherant hatred for subwoofers so it didn’t last long. It’s just too unatural for me. All Penta midranges need refurbishing in time. It’s a easy job to do over a couple of days. Get the best condition you can. Particularly the stainless steel and fabric as these are no longer available. I sold mine in as new condition (they were never touched by the human hand) in their original boxes way too cheap!
After the last software upgrade to the Connect Core it has been much more stable with connection. Then, last week it happened again. So, better yes, but not perfect yet.
As for Beolab 50 issues…just don’t get me started.
The B&O app is a huge contibutor to all these issues. 2-3 years ago it was THE cause of so many of the BL50 issues I experienced yet my dealer and B&O insisted it was all my internet connection. They were wrong, I was right! It too has improved but still not perfect. Make sure everything is running the latest software.
I have those cables no issue there. Doing more research I see you have to connect the speakers to the NL/ML Converter and not the Beomaster. Am I right in assuming that using a Beo4 or other I/R controller on the 7000 would not swich on active speakers or can that also be used?
Yes that is what I thought. But I still maintain cabling will be an issue? Steve at SH doesn’t have anything suitable on his website. Perhaps I’ll drop him a line.
