Both of them have more than one revision, although this is not stated in them

Good advice, thanks! Will search for various editions.

Then you have come to the right place.

Yes I have, and learning so much from you all!

Come to think of it they might have been part of a system to show a hotel interface on the TV that could be controlled with a BEO4. But to work it might also need a server part.

Would be a fun project indeed but futile in most senses so I’ll skip that since I didn’t get hold of the server etc. And I would probably need a completw system with coax cables etc so a hopeless endeavour for sure.

      All the best!

No problem, and just ask if you have any followup questions regarding this.

        Thanks again!

And I most certainly will, but only after I am done reading and learning more from the Handbook, such a great resource!

I’m a B&O newbie trying to learn what I need to know to build a vintage system in our home using Masterlink and adding to it all the great equipment I dreamt of when I was young but couldn’t afford.

However interesting to see that they repurposed the case from a Beolink Active

Yes, exactly! That is what made me hope I might be able to repurpose them somehow but to no avail. I might be able to use them for the eyes, but if that is at all possible, it’s a bulky box plus a bulky power supply for that single use only so I will just recycle all those redundant parts.

        Have a great weekend!

          Thank You!

I take my hat off for your knowledge!

That is great news, and I don’t see Auto-Contrast as super important for my use.

Now I need to read the Handbook very closely.

And BTW, these eyes were used with a box from Otrum for PPV and the MX4000 etc. I doubt I can use that for anything useful but I attach pics of it anyway.

A huge thanks for your help!

              Thanks a bunch!

Yea tbey have damaged screens but work fine otherwise.

I have 6-7 others with fully working screens but some of those have defective plastic “surrounds” and I believe I have seen just plastic parts available but my memory plays jokes on me sometimes!🤯

I’ll attach a pic of the ones with good screens.

or try transmitting through their front window, for fun!

That could be fun! For me at least! But I think they’ll be just fine due to buttons present and working LINK so I’ll be OK.

Thanks again and wish you a great weekend!

Thanks for a super fast reply!

Yeah that was my thought too but thought it was too good to be true!

But I guess you are right when the normal buttons are all there and when it also is possible to program the LIST button.

By the way, do you know where to find new reasonably priced plastic “surrounds” for the displays? And maybe displays too since some have dead pixels?

                Again, thanks so much!

No one? I may purchase a Beosystem 3500 with a slightly cracked glass.

There used to be a website selling these but I can’t find them any longer?

                  Any ideas?

Thanks for your thoughts @matador !

Here are some pics of the box when opened.

I hope some of you knowledgeable guys can chime in and tell me if I can use these boxes for something when I set up my vintage network of two current Samsung TV’s, B&O units and Apple units. Will also add one MX4000 at least and one Avant.

But that is for another thread. They came from a hotel where some of the MX4000 TV’s had STBs onboard.

What is expensive by the way? In regards to IR eyes that is, thinking about your comment.

                    All the best!

                      @matador Thanks for your reply!

Yeah I have more than a handful eyes luckily enough.? Eventually I will trade most for other B&O items or sell so I can start building my home system.

But eyes being expensive? Not sure about prices outside of Sweden so please feel free to elaborate about what they bring where you are. Here they go for 300SEK to 500SEK each or there about. Approximately 30-50USD/Euros. Also if you know about prices of Beo4’s I’d be happy to learn more.

I have opened one of the boxes now and I post pics of it’s contents below. If anyone can figure out if I can use these boxes for anything in a system with mainly vintage B&O units please chime in. I will use two half modern Samsung TV’s, ATV’s and perhaps some Airport Express and other Apple products we have. But that’s for another thread.

                      Regards
