Quick question – which of the later remotes still have Phono available as a source to select?  I have a Beo4 Mk41 and a Mk4.  I can select Phono (via the List button) on my Mk1 but not on my Mk4 – I have to use N.Radio instead. That works, but it’s annoying!

So, I was thinking of getting either a Beo4 Mk2, Beo4 Mk3, or Beo5 for that room, but I am not sure which versions have a Phono button available – can anyone tell me?

Of the Beo4s, I think you are safer to go for the Mk1 ‘AV’ version to get PHONO.  In my notes I have written that PHONO may have only been available in LIST prior to Beo4 SW 4.2, but I am not at all sure if this is correct!

There may be a Beo4 SW version that will show both PHONO and N.RADIO – possibly one of the early Mk2s (SAT, DVD version) that was introduced in the early days of N.RADIO.

Not sure about Beo5/6.  (EDIT:  I just checked by running the Beo 5/6 configuration tool and it does allow you to chose PHONO as a source displayed on the screen – I combined it with BC9500 in this instance.  I haven;t checked with a physical Beo5/6))

But have you considered BL1000 which has PHONO written on the physical button?  Or even Beolink Audio Terminal?

Thanks both.  I already have a Beolink 1000 but that’s in use in another room.

In this room, I also have a Beovision 7, and while a Beolink 1000 will control a BV7, a Beo4 is much better for that.  That’s why I’m thinking of another Beo4, or I might get my first Beo5.

I’ll see if I can get a Beo4 Mk1 or Mk2, or maybe a Beo5, as your test @Guy seems to tell me that this would work.  I may be coming back to you for help with the Beo5 configuration tool if I manage to get hold of one though!

I am quoting myself from a while back, however I just realised that the Beo4 that I am fixing has both PHONO and N.RADIO (i.e same IR command with two names) available to be added to the LIST button – it’s a Mk2 SAT, DVD version at EE: 6.0 and SW:5.00

(Not relevant to this thread but on a similar note, it also has both A.TAPE2 and N.MUSIC available to be added to LIST.)
