The search facility doesn’t seem to be working, it returns all topics (2213 in Beoworld)
3 May 2024 at 14:50 #32887I tried to add a link in a rteply to this topic as I noticed something strange.
Submitting the post leads to “there has been a critical error on this website” message.
Tried several attempts, all failed.
Regards,
Yann.
3 May 2024 at 15:05 #32890On some topics, replies are missing.
For example this one “Beogram 6006 – Arm not going back to parking position – BeoWorld Forum” (as adding a link leads to an error, I cannot do better).
I well remember having somes replies to my request and only my initial post appears.
Regards,
Yann.
3 May 2024 at 15:13 #32886It seems some topics are uncomplete, replies are partly shown.
For example this thread: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/beogram-6006-arm-not-going-back-to-parking-position/
I well remember having recieved replies on my request, but all are missing.
Regards,
Yann.

Hi, there are some replies that have not imported correctly, I am currently trying to write a script to sort this out.
The issue is that when all the data was imported, the MySQL generated new ID number but it does not update the forum indexing.
There also seems to be an issue of when posts go for moderation it is throwing a wordpress error
Both issues are on the issue tracker and being worked on at the moment.

multicare.org.uk3 May 2024 at 16:00 #32898Hi Multicare,
thanks for explanations and all the effort!
1st: May I remind to the question regarding sending PMs?
Further, I also noticed some double posts.
Last, I noticed problems rendering the page on a mobile phone (iPhone SE, next gen) from time to time. Especially when the link was handed over by google. When clicking to the thread from Beoworld, all was fine.
3 May 2024 at 16:21 #32899I am debating if the PM’s will be introduced again.
I have received a couple of requests to be removed form the PM’s so people are unable to contact them.We are still open to it, I think it will depend on how many users want it and what it will be used for.
Double posts are related to the old information not being indexed correctly, I hope to do this soon.
Just need to pluck up the courage to delete the posts and import again – I will need to switch off the server for a bit while it happens. If all goes well it should only be down for an hour or so.

Yes, PM are useful and it would be nice to have them back.

Yann.
3 May 2024 at 22:53 #32935Agree, PMs can be useful.
Another issue, I got error messages when trying to reply from my ipad, both to this tread and to a tread in the workbench. (Usin DuckDuckGo browser)

3 May 2024 at 23:01 #32934I agree with those who wants PMs back.
Another issue, I tried to respond to this thread https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/does-anyone-need-any-vx5000-parts/, but got an error message. See the screenshot.
3 May 2024 at 23:11 #32943One remark to the discussion with „recent threads/contributions…“ which I desired to see again and where you, Multicare pointed us to the list:
I find it a little bit confusing as there are so many options (i.e. filters). I wanted to see whether my recent post caused some reactions and wondered why it did not appear in „recent topics“. Until I recognized it filters on recently opened threads. another of the about 20 links finally showed that desired view („freshness“)
In the old forum one could simply follow latest discussed topics even if a thread, created 3 years ago, showed a new reply. And this was a nice thing.
By the way, I think there is no need for an app. I personally hate it always to encapsulate things in yetanotherapp. a web browser is a generic interface. for me that is a huge advantage in contrast to e.g. discogs

4 May 2024 at 14:03 #54530Hi,
Strike on the workbench?
Only 2 topics listed.

4 May 2024 at 16:01 #54533I am experiencing some thread which I can find I my topics, or search and find (the search functionality works again 🙂 ) but when I go to the thread I only get the headline like this:
4 May 2024 at 16:33 #54555I have also seen that a couple of times.
