There used to be a thread about the beta versions of the Bang & Olufsen app.
I wonder if any of the current active members of the forum still are interested.
Not that there has been many changes that affect my personal setup, but since I use the app on a very regular basis, it is a must for me to see how things evolve.
Recently they changed the font in the app – apparently because they have changed the font overall……..website etc.
This however, at least in my case on the iPad does not look good…..not at all – and has brought another problem (see pic).
Furthermore there is no option anymore to rearrange your products in the startpage – means which one you want to appear first, second etc.
Today I added an M3, which I definitely won’t use that much. This was placed at the top and can not be moved further down like with the regular app versions.
A bug or a deliberate choice of the app team???

Something else – which I do not understand why they can’t change – is the option to have ones devices as they are in real life at home displayed in the app.
My Avant is on the wall and not on a stand, my V1 is also on the wall and it is black. How hard can it be to give us the opportunity to choose between the different official appearances.
Even better would be to allow us to use our own pictures/pictures of the room with the actual product, which would make it easier to identify the different products, especially if you have more of the same. What do you think – is the appearance of the app important – do you (still) use it etc?

16 May 2022 at 11:42 #34833I’m with you, for sure. Yesterday it was discussed on BeoTalk, it looked like 68% of those answering a poll did not like the new fonts in the app. I did not answer cause I have missed it but I’d further add to those numbers not very happy with this font :).
I also hope that the order of products can be changed if this is a bug. Maybe they have moved that option elsewhere?
Otherwise I think it is great to have this thread continued.
16 May 2022 at 12:22 #34834note: you’re discussing a beta version of the app.
Mishaps happens, so report them. Then it can be resolved in next (beta) versions.
note: I did find the new font “refreshing” though. Further on I noticed today, because of MM post, a same, but lesser, effect on the latest official release (but than on the grey letters).
@MM, one of your devices seems the be in for a sw update

Yes, and so the title says….I just wanted to revive this subject/thread.
Of course I have reported this – I wanted to create awareness of this amongst the forum members.
I don’t mind the new font, if they are in for a change, so be it ?
However, I did not really see a need for it.
What bothers me is that the change here has caused bad text layout (at least on my iPad).
And no, all my devices are uptodate (of course) – it probably is because I did not configure Deezer, since I don’t use it.

I did use Deezer once for one year. Hereafter never again, still I never saw a red dot in the app because of it.
(at least on my iPad).
It’s a iPad thing, as you mentioned. On a iPhone everything looks just fine.
18 May 2022 at 18:35 #34837Just received and installed the new beta update.
This brought no changes to what I posted on monday.
The black theme (for the player) looks nice.

For me on my iPhone I am able to rearrange the products on the startpage.

With the latest beta on the iPhone you cannot change the order on the start page but when you go to Settings and then Products there is an Edit button that allows you to rearrange the order.
Something that annoyed me for a long time is that you cannot rearrange your B&O favourite stations. This is especially annoying because new stations are added to the beginning of the list.

Since the beta update yesterday rearranging of the products (I am on an iPad) now works again (thank you app team).
As for rearranging radio stations – if you use the builtin TuneIn service, you must rearrange your favourites in the TuneIn app. I do not know how it works with the B&O Radio, but I sure hope that it is/will be possible to rearrange directly in the app .

20 May 2022 at 21:08 #34841They have fixed the issue with parts of the product name disappearing in todays update.
22 May 2022 at 04:17 #34842The virtual keyboard to allow to fill up text in search fields in the Eclipse and Harmony (and possibly the Stage) is still not implemented.
As a workaround, the LG ThinQ app provides this functionality (the older LG TV Plus app also). For the Eclipse Mk 1, just join it as it was a regular LG TV. However, just the part that is common to LG screens can be accessed. The B&O app must be used for the rest.
Since B&O now use stock LG screens, I think the LG ThinQ app is the way to type text now if you don’t want to fill character by character with the Beoremote 1.
17 August 2022 at 09:32 #34843I haven’t seen any beta since 4.0.1 and the public version is now 4.1.0, with brand new issues. Are any of you beta testing 4.1.x?
22 August 2022 at 03:41 #34844I absolutely hate that they’ve removed the volume slider from the main product pages. Now you need to open the “multiroo player” to control the volume via the app, which doesn’t make sense for BT products, and that is anyway inconvenient for Wi-Fi speakers/multiroom products if you’re just using them individually.
22 August 2022 at 15:36 #34845According to the answer I received from B&O support, the volume slider should be added back in a coming release … but no date given.
24 August 2022 at 00:17 #34846I have just upgraded to version 4.1.2 and the bug that causes interruption in audio streaming (either Chromecast or Airplay) when starting the app is still not fixed.
