BRONZE MemberHi Guys,
I have in my possession this strange contraption. It has a B&O display, a european plug and two scart sockets, one marked “To VCR” and the other “To TV”.
When plugged on the mains, nothing happen.
This device comes from a company that was a B&O maintenance center in France in the early 1990’s (Transvideo for those who know this company).
I am nwondering if anyone knows what it could be, and how much it is worth. (I would be happy to sell it). Have you ever seen something like this?

GOLD MemberMy best guess would be that it was used for controlling B&O VCR’s with a B&O remote control but without the need for s beovision TV. The control signals from the IR eye (it is not a display) is probably routed into the scart connection.
it could be something the repair center build with the use of the B&O IR eye.

BRONZE MemberThanks for this explanation. It helps a lot.

Disregarding the original function, the IR-receiver with its black stand might be the most valuable parts as that is somewhat rare thing (it’s not the MCL IR-transceiver as it doesn’t have the buttons, but the external IR-receiver for the VX5000(/BMx500 I think?))

My thought as well. Could be nice to see if it is just wires or if there is some form of extra circitry.

I belive that it is the VX sensor shown in this thread https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/5529.aspx
The one for Beomaster x500 has the text sensor on the front and is shown in this post https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/beolink-passive-ir-eye/page/2/#post-45805
