Speakers

Hi all
I have some beolab 9000 on the back of my system and some 20 at front there driven by a eclipse the speaker are daisy chained together my question is
When I change audio profiles even though the profile is set up to turn the back speakers off they stay turned on .
But no sound comes out when the chosen profile is one with the speakers set to off.
Should the back speakers stay on even though there is no need or sound coming out ?
