I picked up an rx–2 turntable yesterday at goodwill with cartridge and stylus intact. When hitting start, it starts and set down on record and plays. When getting about 1/4 from end of record it seems to not be able to move any more keeps trying to play the same groove again, but if you cue it and move it a bit toward center it plays till end and then returns to home, what could be stopping it at the almost end of record?, will open it today and look inside , maybe a taught tone arm wire? Any helpwoild be great, thanks.
28 April 2022 at 15:42 #29633You will need to open it up to see what is going on. There are some rods and gears that control the tonearm pickup and something is probably getting hung up somewhere. This YouTube is very helpful to show you how to open it up without having to guess at what screws, etc. to remove:
