Hi Keith,
I tagged a few posts as “Favorites”. Where to find them easily?
What to do?
Thanks by advance and best regards,
Yann.-

If you go to your ‘Profile’ (eg by clicking on your name below your avatar to the left of your post), you will see ‘Favourites’ in the list.

May 19, 2022 at 12:35 pm #5140Hi!
Why is it that the posts in each thread appears in a , for me that is, backwards order?
Makes it really hard to follow a long thread when you have posts in reverse order and have to scroll from the back so to speak?
When replying you need to scroll down through the posts or hit the arrow which to me is a strange order but then again, I am used to my own forum and other where the OP is first and each consecutive post follows so the last post is last in the list.
This is not critique, just an honest question since I find it hard to scroll back and forth on an iPhone which I almost always use.

May 25, 2022 at 7:37 pm #5271any way to quote a part of the message you’re answering?
To only quote part of a post, just highlight the part you want then click quote.
In this example I just highlighted your question only then press quote

Minor bug: Simpletons like me would just click on the “QUOTE” legend and then start typing their response. But that leaves their reply in blockquote blocks too, cf. this post with its indentation and sidebars. (Note, I think this might be the result of the quoting operation leaving the text cursor at the end of the quote rather than on the next line, thus extending the current typeface etc. when the carriage return is typed? But that’s above my pay grade. Anyway, the only way I could make it work properly was to switch from “Visual” to “Text” mode and eliminate the blockquote HTML surrounding my reply.

Yes I am aware and its one of the many issues I need to get around to fixing..
You don’t need to remove the block quote, just put a carriage return after the blockquote
and the switch back to visual and type your response as I have done on my reply to you.Keith
June 1, 2022 at 8:59 am #5549Hi Keith, In the previous forum, we could send directly an email to a member from their profile page It was easy as some members don’t visit the site very often or don’t notice they have a private message How to do this now?
Yes, it was a good facility. Currently this is not available, but it is on my “To Do” list
September 10, 2022 at 9:08 am #8512Feature request: Add custom logic to attachment creation when the usual picture suffixes are used for attachment files, so that it asks (approx.), “Can I insert this into your message as a picture?”. Thus posters can say “yes” allow the pictures to be visible to anyone, or “no” to keep the pix invisible to folks not logged in. Forum websites that don’t allow visitors to see pictures are anathema — make this one at least *offer* to prevent this, because most folks won’t understand the difference. See the most recent thread where the poster almost certainly intended for people to view the TV on offer but mistakenly (I believe) attached the pictures as files rather than inserting them: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/i-want-to-give-away-a-beovision-5-fully-operational/
October 10, 2022 at 3:36 pm #9608Good day Keith,
Not so much a problem but feature request/knowhow.
Q. How can I get the last post to a topic to be top of the page as default?
Cant seem to see an obvious answer.
Thank you

Yes this is something I have been looking into, I will let you know when a solution has been implemented.

Well, you will be surprised to learn that is exactly how I had the forum setup when the new forum started. The latest post appeared directly under the question. However I had so many complaints that people apparently could not find the last post that I changed to it to what we have today.
It was for that reason I implemented the up an down arrows to get to the top and bottom of the current page.
I feel I am in a no win situation with this one!!

October 14, 2022 at 7:59 pm #9713Non-zero amount of work, but what if those arrow buttons instead flipped the display ordering of the thread. (Of course then they *need* captions too!) And hey, if wishes were horses, move that display global into per-user local so anybody could change their own “settings”. Oh yeah, and implement such a “settings” feature because right now all per-user items are display only, no actual logic for anything. Piece of cake, right? [insert smiley here because there is no button for it in the text box menu bar] [oops, another feature request, can’t help myself [insert another smiley [& recurse]]] (N.B. I was a complainer in favor of chronological order.)
November 8, 2022 at 3:54 pm #10968Have the ability to create polls ever considered? I don’t know if that was possible in the old forums but that would be fun!
70s B&O VS 80s B&O …
etc, etc
December 9, 2022 at 4:56 pm #12394I’ve noticed an error on the Beolab Penta page in the Products section at
https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=808
The Penta 2 connections are detailed as PowerLink and SpeakerLink when, in fact, they are
PowerLink 1, PowerLink2, SpeakerLink, Phono. If you could direct the information on, I’d be grateful.

It is possible and I can add it to my long list of “To Do’s”

I access to the last post of a thread by clicking on the time mentioned on the top-right of the thread’s name.
Fast and easy!
April 14, 2023 at 5:15 pm #19000You recently eliminated the “topics started” & “posts replied” notations underneath the UserID, running in the parallel column next to a user’s post. Too bad. While duplicates may not be needed for each & every post in a long back&forth conversation, it does serve as a poor-man’s proxy for reliability/reputation. (Volubility does not equal notability, but still, I rather liked it.) If this is just to save space so short replies don’t take up so much vertical screen real estate, maybe small font single-line or even reduce the whitespace above and below the avatar? If it is to hide the info intentionally from unregistered browsers or lurkers, then probably one shouldn’t be able to click on the UserID to see the same info without being logged in.
April 22, 2023 at 5:10 pm #19351Hi,
How do you revert the order of post in a thread so that the newest is at the top?
