Just wanted to know if this one is salvageable.
I tried to reset my playmaker , which it did. The light went red/orange, then blinking white. As far as I remember it should go solid white after a while and show up as a wifi point, from which I used to be able to set it up further.
Now the white light just keeps blinking white.
Any ideas on how to get past this ?
thanks in advance.

You could try using an RJ45 to RJ45 cable to connect the Playmaker directly to your router, which should allow you to find it and set up further.
From experience, the Playmaker has never been particularly reliable when connected wirelessly, so if possible try to use it hard-wired to your network.

That what also what I had to do when I setup mine last year. As far as I remember you can select the wireless network to connect to from the webinterface when you get acces to it from the cabled network.

Yes that rings a bell with me. Although I am not sure of its relevance here, the Mk1 Playmaker had to be connected hardwired to carry out firmware upgrade, whereas the Mk2 could do so over the wireless network.
Playmaker mark1 = type number 2930 – 2931
Playmaker mark2 = type number 2970 – 2971
4 January 2025 at 21:45 #62285I have first tried plugged into my router with an Ethernet cable. Can’t seem to get passed the blinking white light stage.
I tried resetting it again to try the wifi setup without any luck either.it just seems stuck at the blinking white light stage.
Any way I can reset this by other means than just the reset button?thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated.
5 January 2025 at 09:38 #62301Hi,
All below given your network is 2.4 Ghz and not limited at 5 Ghz.
I could be wrong but as much as the WiFi is really unreliable on those things, I believe the electronics are quite strong. I would advocate for a software error.
First thing I would try is to check the Playmaker shows up on the network when wired. You can use any tool built in on your system, any command line or any utilities around (Who’s on my WIFI, IP Scanner,…). If it shows up you’ll get the IP adress and you’ll be able to connect to it wired. That will tell you your Playmaker is working. Next you’ll be able to select a wireless network – While still wired – in the dedicated page. If no network shows up it’s maybe the wifi part of he PM. If it can see networks, and let’s say none of yours, the problem is in your setup.
All this given your network is 2.4 Ghz and not limited at 5 Ghz. 5 Ghz wifi is always complicated with old devices.
