    Dear,

I have a old Beosound 1 with Japan version; The radio frequency is like from 76 to 90; Can I change the radio frequency to the normal one like 87 to 108? I do check the service manual that indicating:

(the JP type is: 2584; I think the UK type is: 2582)

Press RADIO due to the following set up of tuner in BeoSound 1. TM is still activated.
Enter TM07. Use this to set up the tuner in BeoSound 1. It is very important to
enter No 1 and Nos 5 to 9 as they are not default set to 000.
No 0 00X X is variant of type.
Look underneath BeoSound 1 for Type No. See 7.

    2581=1; 2582=2; 2583=3; 2584=4; 2585=5; 2586=7; 2587=8; 2590=3

    No 1 000
    No 2 175 FM start. Type 2584=152
    No 3 216 FM stop. Type 2584=180
    No 4 0XX XX is variant. Type 2583+2590=75, others=50
    No 5 000
    N0 6 000
    No 7 000
    No 8 000
    No 9 000

    – Turn off BeoSound 1. Remember to follow the guidelines in #6 Test after repair of
    BeoSound 1

Does anybody have the experience to do this? Thanks!

    With kind regards,

    Daniel

    I try following typing, but it’ s not working;

    No. 0 = 002

    No. 1 = 000

    No. 2 = 175

    No. 3 = 216

    No. 4 = 050

    No. 5 – No.9 000

I have had a look at the manual and I don’t think it’s possible.

If you look at the ‘specification’ section, the Japan version gets a specific mention in the Tuner section, whish suggests to me that the actual tuner hardware is different: (none of the other country versions gets specific mention here)

Edit:  Also if you look at the ‘Available Parts’ list, you will see that type 2584 has a different part number for the 01Module – the main PCB including radio:

    Hi, Guy,

The manual you mentioned is the service manual or user manul? In my service manual, I can not find the “specification” section. Can you help a little?

    Thanks!

It was the Service Manual that I took those pictures from:

There is a separate document called the ‘Onsite Service Guide’ to which you may be referring.

    Hi, Guy,
Thanks for your reply! Indeed your manual is right! Looks there are two service manual versions for beosound 1; And I just have the short one.

Now I did have the one same as yours.

It’ s great help from you. I will ask my local engineer to change the PCB1 board in physical way.

    Daniel 🙂
