I noticed last night that Lintronic are no longer trading, potentially temporarily but maybe permanently.  You can read an explanation/update from the owner here:

I know that there are several LinTronic users on the Forum, so I hope that this news does not come as too much of a shock.  I am unsure if an email was sent out to customers – I am on their mailing list but didn’t receive anything.

Although I haven’t purchased a Lintronic device, I often visited their site to investigate options.  At the back of my mind I thought it inevitable that one day I would ‘need’ one of their signal converters for a future mixed setup.

I actually visited their site to see if their Bluetooth ‘add-on’ was a transmitter as well as receiver.  I had a vague idea about controlling more modern (Beoremote One/Bluetooth controlled) B&O TVs with IR (Beo4), but it seems that this functionality had not been incorporated.

Anyway, as you can see their site is still available for limited support and I am sure that Forum Members will also use Beoworld to share ideas and experiences.

Further to the above I just noticed that Lintronic are now recommending that Users download the ‘offline’ version of their configurator – clearly planning ahead for shutting down of their servers etc.

I know that there are a few Lintronic users on the Forum, so they may want to have a look here: https://www.lintronic.online/configurator

Plenty of good businesses which rode on the back of B&O being a successful company have fallen by the wayside – mine included.

Lintronic are/were an excellent company, but technological times change – and when manufacturers build in solutions, or there’s no need for what you provide as a company, the inevitable happens.

I wish everyone at Lintronic well, thank them for some brilliant products, and hope the owners and staff stay on the BeoWorld Forums to help people in the future. 🙂

I saw that they introduced a Bluetooth add-on module so that you could control IR devices with the BT Beoremotes. Personally I’d like to see this work in the other direction, so that the newer B&O TVs could be controlled with Beo4. I do have an old RE-BL (PS3 IR to BT controller – see here) that is similar in concept – just needs a bit of modification …
