17 June 2026 at 09:54 #124049 multicareGOLD MemberThat’s great news!
It will be wonderful to see some BeoSound 3 units back in action again. Thank you for the update and for making these keyboards available once more.

17 June 2026 at 13:11 #124051 matadorModeratorI also find it’s a great news: it’s always a good thing to have people investing in youngtimers products and keeping them alives…
But, many question though:
- Price, of course.
- Reliability: is it the same tech that the original that will inevitably make it malfunction within two or three years (independently of the battery health)?
- Usefullness: really nowadays there is very little a Beosound 3 can offer, no other more recent device can make better or at least the same. I know some people have still the unit as part of their brick & mortar life and for them it’s a great news, but…
I used to have two units: one was sold as donor (and curiously find a buyer, whats defeat all I said above…). The other is more a decoration than a music device. Once a year i need to take the keyboard appart and thoughrougly clean it, and it will work for 12-15 month again, but beside displaying time it is useless.
From now on (since a couple of years in fact), I don’t buy anything B&O that has not Aux-In.
And BS3 should have it more than the useless headphone socket.Anyway, I wish you to sell all your batch.

BRONZE MemberHello, B&O customers are very attached to this product, otherwise we wouldn’t have redesigned the keyboard, especially for its sound quality. The keyboard will be sold at a retail price of €150 excluding VAT; this price reflects two years of research to reproduce it. We will modify the product to include an auxiliary input. The original keyboard had a complex design; the resistive values resulting from combinations of the four rows also depended on the actuation force in newtons, a feature that caused the keyboard to have problems. We have created resistive contacts using silver paste; the manufacturer specializes in membrane keyboards, and they are handmade.
18 June 2026 at 10:16 #124061 T.W.GGOLD MemberThese are finally great news from B&O!
1.) So this is an upgraded Keypad AND a functionality upgrade with Aux-in?
2.) Same design as the old one to keep the aestetics?
3.) Will the core functionality of Beosound 3 be kept alive, so that I can use it again as an MP3-Alarm clock, radio etc.?18 June 2026 at 14:09 #124064CARLO ZANUSO
BRONZE MemberThe product remains the same, the aux update will be later, i just need to work around, the product have the same design seems the original
18 June 2026 at 15:48 #124065 T.W.GGOLD MemberOk, and this is an official Bang & Olufsen solution or third party “modification”?

BRONZE MemberB&O knows that we do this modification and they are happy that we can adjust this product, but this keyboard is completly under the responsability of madsystemes.

29 June 2026 at 13:02 #124275 T.W.GGOLD MemberThank you! Looks good and identically to the original. 🙂
But hopefully the quality and reliability is MUCH better than the original.
So nice of you and B&O to bring the Beosound 3 back to life. How will “Aux in” be accessed in the later upgrade?
Please share a link when and where we can buy it (starting at week 28).

2 July 2026 at 07:48 #124336 T.W.GGOLD MemberThank you.
nice to know before ordering:
Is the new keypad refurbished or a new designed construction? The old one was unfortunately a faulty design and all the keypads failed… it was just a matter of time.

BRONZE MemberThe product has been developped new by a professional that have experience in keyboards over 50 years ,but of course based with the original, the internal grafit have a better conduction.
Reguarding the Aux input, we will use the headphone socket converted in input, when not connected you can listen the FM and when connected you will be in Aux mode. I am doing the tests.
3 July 2026 at 08:37 #124358 MillemisBRONZE MemberInteresting, that with the headphone socket and AUX mode.
Will that then have ‘line-in sense’?
That is very important for those who wants to have an external (airplay or bluetooth) source connected.
Otherwise one will have yo activate that on the BS3, when you use it (how?).MM
