Sad news โ the small danish company HALL AUDIO has closed.
They made and sold the excellent (third party) Wifi Streamer with an HDMI input and had also an ongoing collaboration with Polypv for some interesting ML-products.
I have no idea why they closed and what will become of the collaboration.

GOLD MemberOn the Beotalk Discord server PolyVection has mentioned that they are still working on some kind of ML streamer product, but have not had a collaboration with Hall Audio since the the unsuccesfull kickstarter for the ML streamer.

Modern tvโs (but not all) have an optical digital output, that can be used with the Core.
No modern tv has analog audio output and โ for the Essence โ youโd have to use a Digital to Analog Converter in addition.
However every (modern) tv has a HDMI/(e)ARC socket.
That is what is used on the Hall Audio Streamer.
It is more reliable, turns on/off with the signal.
(That is the port used with soundbars).
You simply use the original tv remote. So, the BS Core can be used โ however, those, who are willing to spend what that costs, will rather buy the Connect Core insteadโฆ.
โฆ..a device that B&O waited very (too) long to introduce and that basicly does, what the Hall Streamer does with the addition of being able to work inside the Beolink network/the Mozart platform. The Hall Streamer was very popular โ it will surely be missed.
Those who are in need of a HDMI/ARC box may have a look on the solution from OneRemote.MM

That looks useful โ thanks for posting. Is it new?

Yes, seems so โ I only noticed it recently.
I havenโt had the chance to test it yet, but I am sure, that it will work.
Erland/OneRemote knows what he is doing.MM

My B&O Icons:26 February 2025 at 23:22 #64135GOLD MemberI use โ for an older Philips 32โ tv in a guestroom โ an ARC Extractor with an Essence MK2 (line-in) and a set of BL3.
Works, but volume control is a bit fiddly.
The tv volume has to be set highโฆ..if I want it louder, I have to use the Essence Remote (or the app).I assume, that it would have worked smoother with the Hall Audio Streamer or the OneRemote-box with the BL3โs directly connected.
But I wanted the Essence (and Beolink multiroom) in the mix.
Thatโll do for now!If I could get my hands on a V1-32 at a reasonable price, Iโd probably replace the current solution.

While experimenting with line-in on my Essence I have noticed that the line-in level is very low compared to the other inputs. I have tried connecting both PC and iPhone, and both need their volume set to max in order to get reasonable volume output from the Essence โ obviously then controllable with the app.
You can of course go into the Essence menu and set the line-in source at a fixed high level (check box for โFix sound levelโ) , but then you canโt use the app to control line-in volume, instead having to control the volume of the source (TV, PC, iPhone etc).

My B&O Icons:27 February 2025 at 16:42 #64166GOLD MemberThe โfixed sound levelโ is not an option to meโฆ..
โฆ.since I also want to use the sources of the Essence (in addition to the audio from the tv).MM
Location: FlensborgโโโโDanmark27 February 2025 at 16:48 #64167ModeratorThe line-in โfix sound levelโ only fixes the volume for that source. You can still use the app to control the volume of other Essence sources.
(As opposed to the separate check box for fixing the line out level)
