    Hi all

Got a problem with my 10-40, yesterday, torrential rain here for a short period, Iuse a satelite dish, and I think the rain on the dish affected the detector etc.

    Signal returned everything as normal.

This morning switched the set on, just a screen with lots of horizontal interference(?)  and diagonal lines.

It would not respond to changes by the remote.

I have looked at the engineering menu, the monitor info shows build as 127 but it is in red,

Other info, mechanical type BV10-40 model 9570

What should I be looking for/at, suggestions please

More info will be supplied if needed!

Just had a couple of minutes to try the functionality with the connected PC, that works, so, i think it points to the tv section!

Back at it tonight or tomorrow, its a bit time dependant!

The Build type in RED is strange.  I searched using AI and it came up with:

The red text for the “Build Type” in your BeoVision 10’s service menu indicates that the television is currently running on engineering, prototype, or non-standard service software, rather than the official consumer release.
This status is an internal flag used by Bang & Olufsen technicians during development, testing, or specific repairs. It is not typically seen on a standard retail unit with regular software updates.

On the Monitor page is there anything listed against the DVB-T/C field?

Or is there a DVB service menu page with DVB CONNECTED shown as YES/NO?
I would double check your satellite connections at DISH and TV end – can you check it with another TV?
If all else fails I would be tempted to note all your settings (if you can view them) and then try a Factory Reset.

and in the DVB Service Menu    DVB connected    yes

the Monitor menu5 after those quoted earlier

    PW  328

    FEP

    FEP Bootloader

    FA Module

    STD Module

    System Module

    BTB Mdule

I also contacted BnO Tech Support, they have given me a Historic BnO repairer but they are 350miles away near Rouen – last resort I think to visit, I will mail them tomorrow to ask if they have any suggestions / solutions to try.

Meanwhile I will try to locate my list of engineering settings prepared earlier in the year to compare with now  –  it would also give me the working Build number.

    Et voila!!!😃

Switched on this morning, still the same situation, looked at the BnO menu page, went to

options, tv setup, ticked both boxes then clicked on DVB and the world opened up.

Could choose language country satellite etc.

And after the next click everything started to reload, after reload had finished rebooted tv and french tv was available and with the sideways arrow to the right freesat came up   —   BRILLIANT, —- I am now a happy bunny!!

I now just need to recreate my personal channel list, a bit of a ballacher, takes a couple of hours, but hey what’s that over paymens to a distant repairer!!!

Monitor info still showing Build 127 in red, I think I can live with that though!😉

Have now finished setting up the tv, just checked the Monitor Info area and the Build 127 is now back to black — maybe it’s a no programs loaded thing?
