BS theatre, to much bass

system consists of 4x BL 3, BL 19, theatre. Tv LG G2
especially with netflix/disney+ I experience too much bass. setting done through roomsence. what can i change
what should crossover be on? and the various diversion levels?
do hou have suggestions

Leave the crossover – that will be set at 120hz but I doubt it is your problem?

1. In BeoApp, on the Theatre front page, below listening position

Sound >> Equaliser >> dial down total bass setting.

2.  Go to a chosen Listening Position (Video >  say)

Open the configuration and find “Speakers >”

Find your BL19 registered, dial-down the dB. This will keep the overal tone but reduce the attenuation, giving a deep but less powerful bass

Move the base equaliser to say -2

Move the speaker level down as much as you can to suit your taste.

I don’t know the effect of redirection level.

sounds like your BL19 is not taking commands from the Theatre if the bass remains too much

I had a simular problem with a Theatre I had for testing at home. My one was faulty and went back to B&O for repair. The Bass was by far to much.

Welcome to Beoworld!

First, I suggest you turn off Loudness in the B&O app, then either set bass to -1 and treble to 0, or set bass to 0 and treble to +1. This should give a good sound balance with the Theatre for most setups, then tweak the sound from there to suit your ears and preference.

Some things to try (including some repetition from the above):

• Don’t change the crossover
• Don’t change the Re-direction Levels (as a first step, at least)
• Don’t turn off the Loudness

Find an example of a signal that you feel has too much bass. Play it and disconnect the power to your Beolab 19 and play it again.

IF, when you do this, the issue disappears (I assume that this will over-compensate and now you have too little bass), THEN
the solution is probably to reduce the Speaker Level of the Beolab 19 in the Listening Position -> Speakers menu. There’s no way to predict how much you should reduce it. Just drop the level until you’re happy with the relative balance.

However, IF, when you do this, the issue is still there, THEN
the solution is probably to reduce all Bass Redirection levels. Do this to all of them by the same amount (e.g. drop each one by 1 dB and listen again…. repeat this until you are happy with the relative balance.)

Hopefully, one of these two procedures will fix the issue for you. After this, you can use the Bass, Treble, Frequency Tilt, and Sound Enhance sliders to make fine adjustments to taste.
