SILVER MemberHi,
I bought a Beovision AV9000 that is in excellent condition. The previous seller was a collector and took a lot of care in his units. The TV was professionally dismantle from the VCR/sound part, very well packed and stocked.
I remove the packaging to test the unit. I download the installation manual but I wanted some feedback in installing the TV on the sound system. Do I need to just “put” it on top of the sound system and use simultanously the 2 levers as I the reference manual ? Are there any guide to be sure to be corretly aligned ?
Are there 2 different color model for this Beovision ? Mine does seem to have a darker blue than the pictures I found on the Internet.
Last but not least, is there a way to clean the aluminium stand ? It has some marks and could benefit from the right cleaning.
Very kind regards,
Sergio

SILVER MemberI was able to do it almost alone (the bigbosswifey helps me targeting the holes when I was moving the TV). It was heavy but I did it and it fits perfectly. It was a breeze to secure by pushing the 2 handles simultanously.
The TV is working, at least in got the picture. I am able to play with the menu. I need to plug a console to test it. I notice a buzzing sound that seems to come out of the back of the TV. It stop when I remove the plug. What could it be ?

SILVER Memberthe buzzing sound is quite annoying. It doesn’t seem to come from the speaker, but from the bottom of the TV. I will remove back cover and try to locate the origin of the sound.
I got the service manual from the site but the scan is not very good and the list of mechanical parts is unreadable. I can do a high res scan if someone send me the manual ๐

GOLD MemberThe manual library on site is not yet fully updated. But if you contact @multicare I am sure Mark will look if any other AV9000 documents are available
Also I recently found a servicemanual on Archive.org that among a lot of MCL2 link equipment also cover the Audiokit for AV9000.

SILVER MemberI open the TV and did a cleaning of the dust. Not too much as I did not wanted to damage something.
I read a lot about THT discharge and thought it might be the origin of the buzzing sound, but it is not. I did discharge it, clean everything and put back a slight touch of specific grease.
I made a video and the sound seems to come from the bottom where there are a coil or something like that. Here is a video (link only available for 2 days) : https://streamable.com/9yuifk
Did anyone have an idea of the origin of the sound ? And a way to mitigate it ?
Cheers,
S.

Here is a direct link for the servicemanual on archive.orgย https://ia904506.us.archive.org/11/items/manual_MCL2AV_SM_BANGOLUFSEN_EN/MCL2AV_SM_BANGOLUFSEN_EN.pdf
It describes how the Audiokit should be setup in regards of option settings

SILVER Memberthe location of the sound seems to come from the part in the picture. I touch it using a plastic handle and I felt the vibration. I did not felt it elsewhere.
Is that something that can be repaired ? How ?
Cheers,

GOLD MemberHello Sergio. I have tried contacting you a couple of times through the private message function regarding sending the package with the Audiokit for the AV 9000. So in case you haven’t got any notifications about these messages here is a heads up.

I there any chance something wasn’t seated perfectly when you assembled the screen and speaker?
Have the two elements been unjoined and reconnected since you first rebuilt it?

SILVER MemberHi julian,
I did check but it wasn’t that. I was able ro remove the part in picture and test it by directly powering it. the noise come from the transformers. I tried to find the same one but of course, it was not available.
I am trying to find the correct technical reference (220v in and 2x16v out – but I have no clue for the current) to replace it with a more modern one. That should be too complicated because I am working with an old school electronician.
cheers,
S.
