    Hi everyone,

Today I bought a Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 7 MK2 (55″), but unfortunately, during transport the front glass was chipped in several places along one side of the TV.

I’m trying to figure out the best way to repair it and would really appreciate some advice from anyone who has dealt with this before.

    <ul data-spread=”false”>

  • Is the front glass replaceable?
  • If so, does anyone happen to have a replacement glass for sale, or know where I might be able to find one?
  • Today I also read a bit about contrast filters for these TVs, but I’m not sure how they’re are mounted. Are they bonded to the front glass, or are they a separate piece that can be transferred to another glass?
  • Alternatively, is there any full bezel, trim, or frame available that mounts around the entire front of the TV (top, bottom and both sides) to create a seamless finish and hide the damaged area?
  • Are there any videos, guides or tutorials showing how to replace the front glass or disassemble this part of the TV?
  • How would you guys approach this? What do you think is the best solution?

Any advice, recommendations or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Sebastian

Hello Sebastian, that is a bummer!

I found this for the BV 7-40:

Maybe it is the same method as for the 55?
To repair you could maybe give it a go with some 2K black epoxy glue, though best is to find a replacement screen.
Perhaps you can find a defective 7-55 for little money and repurpose the screen.

Hi Johan,

Thank you very much for taking the time to look into this, I really appreciate it.

I also hope the 55″ uses the same method.

I’ll have a closer look when I get a chance. For now, I think my best option is probably to find a damaged or faulty BeoVision 7-55 and use the front glass from it.

Thanks as well for the epoxy suggestion. I’ll keep that in mind if I can’t find a replacement screen.

Many thanks again for your help!

Best regards,
Sebastian

Thanks, <strong data-start=”28″ data-end=”38″>Valve1!

I completely agree. 😊

Mine suffered a chipped front glass during transport, but it’s working perfectly otherwise.

I’m determined to save it and bring it back to its former glory.
