I’m curious if there are any 3rd party panels/displays that people have found that play nice with the Beosystem 4 either via rs232 or simply via HDMI or PUC control.

I’ve still got a Panasonic plasma from a Beosystem 3 I would assume would be responsive via rs232 but thought I’d ask if others had experience.

I have an old LG 55UV340C commercial panel that will turn on and off with IR/PUC on my Beosystem 4. The panel is mounted to a modified BV7-40 stand with a BL7.1 attached. Works a treat.

I really do need some help with a possible project.

I have a full setup that dates back some years now, it comprises of a:

    Beosystem 3

    Beovision 7 50″

    7.2 centre, 2×8000 & 2×6000 speakers

    B&O dvd 2

    Overdue cd

    Humax free sat

    Beo 5 & 4 remotes, Beo5 programmed for above.

What I’m looking to do is to upgrade to a 55″ tv/panel that will integrate with all I have.

A55″ will fit in with the 7.2 center speaker As the 4 50″ has the aluminium surround making the actual overhaul size 55″.

B&O shop Harrogate basically wanted to sell me a new system for many thousands of £, WOW and dump what I have now which in its day cost many thousands £ 😢

Any help would be vastly appreciated.

Hello Graham, I remember this conversation here: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/beosystem3/.

I reckon you never pulled the trigger on the Sony TV? I think the comments of Millemissen are very good. They are not only about how to set things up, but also about the ease of use afterwards.

Most convenient could be a TV that switches on when a signal (given by the BeoSystem 3) is detected. Then you can control the system as you do today.

The downside could be that then you do not harvest the 4/8K image a modern TV provides, as the BeoSystem 3 provides HD signals max.

    Regards,
