BRONZE MemberPROBLEM SOLVED:
3. Sommige Albumplaatjes werden niet geladen.OPLOSSING:
1. Met tip van A.I. het gratis programma MP3TAG gedownload.

BRONZE MemberHi everyone who has problems with this. I’ve solved it:
<h1>B&O COMMUNITY POST </h1>
BeoSound 5 Encore – Fix for Pausing Between Tracks, No Standby, and Missing Cover ArtTags: BeoSound 5 Encore, Metadata, Cover Art, USB Setup, NAS Setup, MP3TAG
Short Introduction Many BeoSound 5 Encore owners run into similar issues. My BS5E paused between tracks, refused to enter standby, and sometimes didn’t show album art. After a complete cleanup and restructuring, everything works flawlessly again. I hope this helps others.
PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED
- The BS5E randomly entered PAUSE mode after certain tracks when playing from USB.
- The BS5E no longer entered standby (black screen) and stayed powered on. Cause: continuous re-indexing triggered by inconsistent files.
- Some album covers didn’t load or appeared inconsistently.
- Root causes included:
- using an SSD as the music source (sleep-mode, unpredictable I/O),
- inconsistent MP3 metadata,
- PNG files and hidden files inside album folders,
- missing or incorrect cover.jpg,
- overly deep or inefficient folder structure,
- USB drive not formatted optimally.
SOLUTIONS THAT FIXED EVERYTHING
- Cleaned up metadata using MP3TAG. Created Action Groups (.mta) to:
- remove unnecessary or problematic tags
- convert ID3v2.4 to ID3v2.3
- check embedded cover art
- remove or convert PNG files to JPG
- Standardized cover art. Each album folder now contains:
- cover.jpg (exact filename)
- embedded cover art inside every MP3
- Cleaned up all album folders. Removed PNG files, hidden/system files, leftover junk files, inconsistent filenames.
- Simplified the folder structure. Old: D:\MUSIC\Artist\Album\*.mp3 New: D:\Artist\Album\ Result: much faster indexing.
- Reformatted the USB stick using GUIFormat. FAT32, 32k clusters. Most stable configuration for the BS5E.
- Auto-filled metadata fields using MP3TAG Action Groups. Example: Title automatically filled from filename.
- New USB stick works perfectly. SanDisk 128GB USB 3.0 (formatted FAT32). Results:
- no more pausing between tracks
- device enters standby normally
- all cover art displays correctly
- indexing is fast and stable
- Alternative: NAS share works extremely well. A NAS shared folder (e.g., Synology) is also a stable option:
- no sleep-mode issues
- predictable I/O
- stable SMB access
- smooth and consistent indexing
SUMMARY FOR OTHER B&O USERS
- SSDs are not suitable for the BS5E (sleep-mode + I/O behavior).
- USB 3.0 sticks work fine if formatted FAT32 with 32k clusters.
- NAS shares are an excellent alternative.
- Each album folder should contain:
- cover.jpg
- embedded artwork
- no PNGs or hidden files
- ID3v2.3 tags
- Keep the folder structure simple: D:\Artist\Album\tracks
