Hello guys i’m new here and please forguve me for my bad english…
i’ve recently purchased my first b&o product, it have some default but i’ts working (well the tape deck is working at a lower speed than the normal one but that’s not the subject) i wanted to do a playlist with FLAC files, Cdburnerxp and some old CD’s (RW) and when i load it on the beosound, it only spin for 2 seconds and then stops and display “CD <>” i tested the same procedure with MP3 files in the burning software and even with the most basic settings it refuses to spin longer and play it…
I have only one idea, i think i’ts because i’ts a rewritable cd and not a CD R… Please help 🙁

16 December 2024 at 11:28 #61661Hi and welcome to Beoworld!
Does the Ouverture play normal music CDs?
Does the CD laser track across the disc in a straight line, or a curved-path?

Yes it plays normal CD’s like those you would buy in any store but i’m not sure i really understood you’re second question. But the lens move on a straight line path. The CD’s i uses for doing my compilation aren’t harm or sum and they are played well on other devices like my computer or a Sony s-master digital amplifier.
Thanks for replying

The question about the CD path was just to check if it’s one of the newer CD mechanisms, which it is! There is a good chance that these were never able to play mp3s on CD-R or CD-RW. I will have a search and see if I can find out, or perhaps another Ouverture owner on Beoworld can test and comment.

Correct on the Ouverture only CD format is supported.
Maybe a BS3200 could, because it has encoder/decoder for mp3 files. But I doubt it.16 December 2024 at 15:07 #61669Technicaly the FLAC or MP3 files are changed to CDA files when the cd is burned so the beosound could play it in theory or even in the CDA format it couldn’t. Idk i checked some of my in store buyed cd and the only thing that change is that the cd is in a reading only format (cdfs)

So the tittle of these posts is not acurate.
You should burn the CD in de CDDA format.
