I’ve been trying to work out why I couldn’t connect a BeoLink Passive to a NL system and play audio through it, then it occurred to me that, on ML, you need a Audio Master for the ML to work properly – and although the converter has the option to be set up as a AM, maybe it doesn’t provide the voltage on the pins required.

my question is – has anyone ever used the converter to bridge between a NL system and only a Bsolink Passive – or other non- AudioMaster ML device and had it work correctly?

Yes – you’ll need a ML driver to get that working.

Just connect a 1611 Beolink Converter to the ML chain or use the USB Powerbox, that B&O made for the use cases, where no audio/video master is in the setup anymore.

Interesting! They have a Role as AM, but don’t provide the power over the ML cable.

maybe it would be easy to make one? Any idea of what voltage and what wire on the ML connector is needed?
