Hi All
I have a Beosound 5 with Beomaster 5 ( with new life with SSD and Airplay ) that I would like to have A.AUX to work with a 1611 Beolink converter. I have connected everything with a 3.5 mm jack from my computer to AUDIO AUX LINE on 1611 as recommended in these forums, but no sound and I have no clue if the 1611 is turned on or if the Masterlink cable is working. I also tried to connect my Beolab 8000 to the 1611 converter but nothing happens.
Is there a way to verify that the 1611 is working and is there a setting I need to set in order to make it work ? And is there a manual out there for the 1611 ?
Regards Lars

Firstly, the only connection between the BM5 and the BL1611 should be a masterlink cable.ย You should not connect anything to the BL1611’s Powerlink socket.ย Your speakers should remainย connected to your BM5.
Hopefully your 3.5mm to DIN cable is supplying audio to DIN pins 3 and 5.
Your BS5 should be in A.OPT 2, so that it will accept Video sources.ย I think that this is somewhere in the BS5โs settings menu – you need to change the โAMโ (Audiomaster) setting to Option 2.
You should then be able to select your PC as an input by choosing any Video option on the remote (eg TV, V.MEM, DVD) – you cannot select using A.AUX.

You can not use the A.AUX command with the input on the 1611. The A.AUX input is as far as I know for the USB analog audio input converter.
However Any video command like TV, DVD, V.MEM, V.Tape etc. will open up the audio input from the AAL connector on the 1611 converter provided that correct wired cable is used.
Hope this helps or else feel free to ask again

I have seen some BS5 saying TV on the display so I still think I am doing it wrong. I maybe thought I needed a 7 pin cable to the Aux in line but seems like thats not the case. Is there anyway to test the 1611 ( I dont even know if it is ON ) and the Masterlink cable just to verify ?
26 February 2025 at 20:07 #64111I am getting closer ๐ Suddenly the BS5 shows TV on the display but still no sound but noise in the speaker if I play with the 3.5 mm jack input to my ย computer. So maybe its a defect AUX to 3.5 mm jack cable ? or you cannot use input from a computer ?
This cable is on the way to me instead of the 3.5 mm jack:

Also, your 3.5mm to DIN lead could be an input at the (wrong) 3.5mm end.ย You need one that sends the 3.5mm signal to DIN pins 3 and 5 (not 1 and 4).
