      Hi to you all,

In my living room I have a BS5/BM5 and 2x BL4000, and in the kitchen a BL3500. I use the Beo4 in the living as well as in the kitchen, but after an accidental push on the reset button at the back of the BM5, the BS5 does not respond to the Beo4, while the BL3500 still does. I have disconnected the whole system from the mains and after 30 min plugged in again, but the problem still exists. Anyone who knows how this can be solved?

I don’t have a BS5, but I think it is probably set up not to respond to IR commands.  I think that somewhere in the BS5’s settings menu you need to change the ‘AM’ (Audiomaster) setting to Option 1.

Hopefully someone who owns a BS5 can be more specific!

Thanks for your reaction but I’ve tried all kinds of settings. The BS5 is set to AM option 2, just as it was before this problem started and it worked.

OK, a longshot, but perhaps the Beo4 is set to permanent LINK mode?

On the Beo4, press Standby (Red dot) + LIST together

            Press LIST until CONFIG appears

Enter the numbers 2002 , the display will read LINK ON (or LINK OFF)

            Press Exit

Repeat the above to toggle between the two settings.  You want LINK OFF.

Thanks again. I tried both. It was already LinkOff and changed to LinkOn but still no success.

Problem solved. I opened in WIN XP the services and saw the remote registry service was disabled. Started it and the problem disappeared.

Great news – thanks for letting us know the solution!
