    Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a rather annoying issue with my Bang & Olufsen speakers, particularly my two BeoSound 35 units.

Whenever I start streaming music via AirPlay, the speakers make a short but clearly audible popping or clicking noise just before the music starts playing. It sounds almost like an amplifier switching on or an audio circuit being activated.

What makes this particularly interesting is that both of my BeoSound 35 speakers exhibit exactly the same behaviour. I’ve also noticed similar noises on other B&O speakers, so I’m wondering whether this might be a more general issue with the AirPlay implementation or the way B&O handles waking up the audio hardware.

The noise occurs right before playback begins, rather than during the music itself. Once the music is playing, everything sounds perfectly fine.

I’ve been looking through the forum and found some discussions about AirPlay and firmware issues with the BeoSound 35, but nothing that describes this exact behaviour.

A few questions for other owners:

    • Has anyone experienced a similar popping or clicking sound when starting AirPlay playback?
    • Is this a known issue with the BeoSound 35 or other B&O speakers?
    • Could it be related to the amplifier waking up, AirPlay stream initialization, or a firmware issue?
    • Has anyone found a solution or workaround?

I would be particularly interested to hear from other BeoSound 35 owners who use AirPlay regularly.

Any experiences or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Best regards,
    Mirco
