Hi all,
Looking to start a project with my BS 2000.
In my bedroom I have a BS 4000 with a Beoconnect Core. BC Core powering the speakers (PL out), Aux Link out of the 4000 into Aux-in on the Core. Its a perfect setup in my opinion as I can stream without turning the 4000 on, and CDs will play automatically into the Core when I start one.
I’d like to set up a similar system in another room with a BS 2000, BC Core, and BL 6000s. Obviously the 2000 is more limited in features, but I think there may be ways to modify it to work how I want. I’d like for the speakers on the 2000 to play WITH the 6000s at the same time.
I’ve thought of things like swapping the headphone jack for a non-muting jack, and hooking up the 6000s that way. Then take the signal from the Core into the Aux jack on the 2000. Problem with that is I’d still have to press aux on the 2000 when I want to use it.
I could connect the 6000s directly to the Core, but there is no way to split off into the 2000 to use it’s speakers, unless maybe I do something crazy like solder into the tuner output or something.
Could be tricky – I’ll keep brainstorming. Any input would help greatly!
11 January 2025 at 10:45 #62520Are you sure that the BS2000/Century does not provide an AUX output in the same way as the BS4000? The service manual is a bit confusing, because the connections summary (page 1-2) shows NC (no connection) for aux output pins 1 and 4, whereas if you look at the circuit diagram (page 2-19) it shows pins 1 and 4 connected as an AUX output. Worth testing.

I think it was established in this thread that the AUX output text is a mistake in the diagram https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/beosound-1-cd-version-data-link/#post-51699 so can probably not be used.
12 January 2025 at 00:57 #62532I saw where it says NC in service manual, but did not see circuit diagram. I’ll have to test to verify! I’m guessing it doesn’t allow aux out (or PL out) since it has its own speakers.
