BRONZE MemberHi all,
I have a pair of 1991 BeoLab 8000 speakers (230V EU model) currently fitted with the original C7 connector, which is ungrounded. I’m looking to retrofit proper grounding to reduce mains-induced hum and noise.
I understand the C7 only carries live and neutral, with no earth pin. Before I open the speakers, I’d like to know:
1. Where is the designated ground/earth connection point on the 8000’s internal PSU or chassis?
2. Which PCB trace, screw terminal, or metal point should the ground wire connect to?
3. Is there a ground pin or contact on the C7 connector body that was left unused, or should I run a separate wire?
I have the service manual references but can’t access the full schematics. Any guidance from someone who’s done this retrofit would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks in advance.Location: UK
