I’ve had this Beolab 3500 Mk1 for a while now and I have stored the sound settings (default volume, bass, treble, loudness) in the past, but now I want to change it (the default volume, specifically), and can’t figure it out! I think I was using a Beolink 1000 when I originally did it, and now I have a Beo4 Mk4 and a Beo5, and I cannot figure it out with either of these. My Beolab 3500 is in Opt.4.
I know the command I need is S.Store, but I cannot seem to add that command to either remote.
Beo4 Mk4:
The lexicon says that S.Store should be available to add as a list item, but only if A.Setup has been added. So, I added A.Setup, but still could not find S.Store to add. Even though I have added A.Setup, it does not appear if I press the List button to cycle through the extra buttons, but if I go back into List settings, I can see it is there.
Beo5 Software 1.45b:
The Beo5 manual says that Sound Store should be available as a button, but I cannot find it in the config tool, so I can’t add it. I have only found Store, so I added it, but that didn’t work (I didn’t really expect it to – Store is intended for TV settings). There is also no A.Opt available to add in the Beo5 config tool.
I was able to create a submenu and add Bass, Treble and Loudness, and when I click those ‘Bass’, ‘Treble’ or ‘Loudness’ do appear in the BL3500’s display, but then I can’t adjust them. I tried the volume wheel, the central arrow buttons and the outer ring buttons, but none of them result in any actual adjustment.
I know there’s be a solution, but I’m buggered if I can find it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Use LIST to go to A.SETUP. Then press OK. Then use LIST to cycle through BASS, TREBLE, LOUDNSS, and then …….. S.STORE 😀

If I go back into List settings I can see that A.Setup is there (available for me to move or remove), so I know I added it successfully, but I cannot seem to get it to appear in the extra buttons when I click List.

This may be because the Beo4 is set to control a Video source (eg, with TV showing in display).
Have you tried pressing RADIO (or any other audio source) and then cycling through LIST?
Location: Warwickshire, UKMy B&O Icons:1 February 2025 at 16:07 #63294Ah, that was it, thanks! I did have a video source selected when I tried (but only because I use one of the inputs on my BV7 TV for an audio source).
I selected Radio first, then I was able to get to A.Setup. It worked and I have stored my new volume and sound settings using my Beo4. Still can’t figure out how to do the same with my Beo5, but at least it’s sorted, thanks.

There’s a table in the Beo5 handbook that says ‘S.STORE’ on the Beo4 is equivalent to ‘Sound Store’ (text in full) on the Beo5 – does that help? I assume that like the Beo4 it will only appear when you are controlling an audio product. Can’t think of anything else but hopefully someone else knows!!
Location: Warwickshire, UKMy B&O Icons:1 February 2025 at 18:40 #63301Yes I read that in the Beo5 handbook too, but still, neither S.STORE or SOUND STORE appear as a button you can add in the config tool. There is just a STORE button available to add, but that has no effect.
Seems odd that it would be missing in the Beo5 config tool – there must be a way to add it, surely.

Location: Liverpool1 February 2025 at 18:49 #63303Ah, found it! If you have an audio source already selected, then press the Scene soft button, A.Setup is shown. It only works if an audio source is already selected, but then when you do press it, you get Bass, Treble, Loudness and S. Store.
