SILVER MemberI recently gained a pair of BL17, I’ve had them connected via PL up until now. I am considering a change in speaker placement which would enable me to connect them via optical toslink to my Beosound Core.
Any thoughts from the forum as to whether this usually preferable? I’d assume this means the DAC in the Core is bypassed and would solely use that in the BL17?
Also as an aside, do the BL17 already do a ADC to DAC internally when using Powerlink for additional digital signal processing? So toslink would also bypass that additional processing?
Another question is whether the DAC in the 17 is as good/better than that of the Core, in which case Powerlink could render the sound ‘better’?
I realise the sound heard by me is at the end of the day subjective, but I wondered if there was any technical insight or an interesting discussion regardless…
