BRONZE MemberHello all!
I’ve recently acquired a Beogram CD 7000 (together with the BM 7000), and have revised the player with a new 47 µF cap and suspensions, bushings, etc. It has been working gloriously ever since—but when the player starts reading, the laser assembly is knocked violently towards the centre with an audible ‘knock’ sound. The same happens when the laser stops reading from any position. It seems that when it loses power it gets a jolt of current, slamming the laser assembly to its maximum or minimum position. I have the feeling this has to do with a/multiple capacitor(s) failing. Could someone direct me to which one(s) to replace, and whether it then needs re-adjustment?
Thank you in advance, I appreciate any insights!

ModeratorDid you use the right brand and type of capacitor for C2103?
Not any old capacitor will work here, as we have discussed previously on these pages.Martin
