BRONZE MemberHi all, new member, first post. I’m well versed in fixing vintage receivers and have fixed many for myself and others. This is however my first Beosystem. The CD player needed a new belt and drawer aligned, which i’m in the process of doing. The cassette though, I’m not sure where to go with no experience working on these and no schematics. The fuse was blown when i got it, so replaced it….it powered right up, drawer opened and closed….i put in a cassette and checked RR, FF and play, all was going well, display was lit up…then 30 seconds later, nothing. the unit just stopped, play head still engaged, display went blank except for red stand-by LED being lit. No smoke, no noise, no visual damage. Unit has power, fuse intact and getting voltages along the rear heat-sink transistors. No idea where to go with this without schematic or pointing in the right direction. i did try the “hold play while plugging in” and the display fully lit up but no functionality. any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff
