Those of you who saw my previous post about the Beocord 1500 De Luxe that will play but not record – I have decided to abandon that project as it could be expensive to get it working, and it’s an enormous, heavy machine anyway.
I am however still determined to have a working B&O reel-to-reel, so I bought a Beocord 1200, knowing that the Beocord 1200/1600 was B&O’s last reel-to-reel in production. It’s also more modern looking, more compact, and a lot lighter than the Beocord 1500 De Luxe, and can stand vertical, which I prefer. It also looks good alongside my Beomaster 3000-2.
It’s in pretty good cosmetic condition but needs new belts. It will likely need more repairs, but I’d at least like to fit belts and see if I can get it running to see how it performs. I am not sure if mine is the earlier version with one flywheel belt of the later version with two, but I think it’s the earlier one. SN is 18417.
I found some very old posts on the old forum, indicating that @Dillen used to be able to provide these belts, along with fitting instructions. I don’t suppose you still have those instructions do you, Dillen? I assume you can no longer provide the belts as the posts on the old forum were a long time ago, but maybe you still have the fitting instructions?
I can get the belts from Danish Sound Parts but I don’t think they come with any fitting instructions.
