Beocom 2000 – turn off ringtone permanently

I would like to permanently turn off the ringtone on my Beocom 2000 (German model). I have succeeded to turn the ringtone off with enter 0 enter hash. However when I make a call, the ringtone comes back. Is there any way to turn off the ringtone permanently?

According to the manual there in a ‘tone ringer’ switch under the notepad section (slide to the right) which should be set to position 9.
