BRONZE MemberI recently moved and my Beocenter 2500 no longer is putting sound through to my Beovision 5…I haven’t changed the wired (masterlink) connection. I’m sure this is an easy fix, and vaguely remember something about calling the tv the “master” and the Beocenter the “slave” but I don’t remember how.
I have a Beolink 1000 and Beolink 4 if that’s important to know.
Anyone remember how to do this??

With the system at stand-by, using the BL1000:
Press SOUND then 0 then STORE (to put the BC2500 in A.OPT 0)
Press PICTURE then 2 then STORE (to put the TV in V.OPT 2)
Then try to operate as before.
(Double check all your cable connections also – if your audio centre is definitely a BC2500 then there should be an extra box (Beolink Converter) between that and the TV))

BRONZE MemberThanks Guy…I just double checked, and my sound system is a 4000, not a 2500! I’m not sure if that makes a difference. I did try the sequence that you sent me, but it didn’t work.
The 4000 turns on, but not through the Beovision. I disconnected and re connected both ends of the Masterlink cable.

The BS4000 is also known as BeoSound Ouverture in Europe. This has its own Masterlink socket, so no need for the Beolink Converter that I mentioned.
So your system should work as described with just the masterlink cable between the TV and BS4000 – check that the cable is pushed fully home in both sockets, and maybe try reversing the cable to see if that makes a difference. Check also the masterlink sockets for dust or debris.
Otherwise perhaps there is a fault in your BL1000 remote, so you can also try using the Beo4 remote to conduct the Option setting as follows:
- With the whole system connected & powered but at stand-by.
- BS4000: On the Beo4, press the POWER button and LIST together. Then press LIST until OPTION is shown, press GO (centre button), and then press LIST to show A.OPT. Then press 0. The red stand-by light on the BS4000 should blink to show that this option has been accepted.
- BV5: On the Beo4, press the POWER button and LIST together. Then press LIST until OPTION is shown, press GO (centre button), and then press LIST to show V.OPT. Then press 2. The red stand-by light on the TV should blink to show that this option has been accepted.
Now try again! Fingers crossed!

BRONZE MemberAwesome clear instructions, thank you! Well it’s working again. The combination of “rehoming” the masterlink as well as using the Beo4 has done the trick.
Many thanks for helping me out!
