I agree with much of what you wrote in your ‘App Appearance’ thread, MM .
https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/3-generations-of-the-bo-app-which-one-would-you-prefer/
I took you at your word and am writing these comments here.
The B&O App Development Team undoubtedly have their own priorities although the rationale behind the recent changes to the App that render versions 5.4 and 5.5 so awful is beyond me. It often seems that the beta versions are released as ‘official’ prematurely, and I worry that the developers are not taking user problems reported seriously. Just read the many negative and frustrated comments about the B&O App in the Apple App Store.
However, the B&O Support team always responds when I report a problem, albeit the answer is often ‘we have reported this to our developers and we cannot give you a specific time when (or if) it will be fixed’. They have however also provided solutions to other problems.
I reported the missing play queue in v5.4 via the Support link in the app. This was ‘fed upwards’ to the developers and, after a few weeks, I was informed that the missing play queue was specific to the BeoSound Moment. Accordingly, I was concerned that this alone would put it low on the developers’ list of fixes but, lo and behold, the play queue reappeared in v5.5. I feel like they did respond to my plea.
I like Beoworld a lot and have read some really useful information here. It is also less confusing than the Beotalk And B&O server on Discord which also contains a huge amount of information. My experience with other Discord servers is that they are equally convoluted and hard to negotiate but, if you use it, you quickly find which folders are most relevant to you. You can ignore the others. Also, new unread messages are highlighted. I think both Beoworld and Discord have useful but different places in the B&O users’ world. I don’t see them as competing.
Like MM, I will stick with App v5.3 for as long as I can, even after it expires. My hope is that they will fix most if not all of the problems in subsequent versions. Fingers crossed…
24 November 2023 at 13:18 #49197Hi,
A new version is out and no comment.
Did anybody dare to try it?
I did, another new regression as the radio played on the main product is no more shown on connected products…
And of course no progress on existing concerns.
Yann.
24 November 2023 at 15:17 #49198Mr.Anderson has seemingly agreed to appear on the Sunday podcast, at some point in the hopefully near future. I’ll post when something is confirmed, as people may have questions etc they want to submit, or just listen.

Yeah, I installed it and, after 5 minutes, reinstalled v5.3. Nuff said! No perceptible change from where I’m sitting. I just want the various options of the old play queue back.

That would be nice!
I would like to ask about the roadmap for the app, where are they heading?
Who are the costumers they have in mind, when making these changes? And more???

25 November 2023 at 00:36 #49201Once a date is confirmed, I’ll gather questions (for those who have them etc), either here or on Discord, or both, and try and ensure he gets a chance to look at them in advance.
28 November 2023 at 17:23 #49202Hi All,
I just registered here to find a solution to something that bugs me quite a bit. Forgive me if this has been asked/answered before; I couldn’t find any search engine on the forum. I tried with Google search to no avail.
When you search for a specific song using the Bang & Olufsen App and listen to it; how does one can see the album for that song? For instance, in Deezer, I would typically hit the 3 dots and click on “Album Page” to get to the actual album, and then eventually add it to my favorites.
How can this be done from the B&O app?
Thanks in advance.
28 November 2023 at 18:44 #49203Here is another ‘mystery’.
What is the point of having a ‘Standby button’, if it does nothing?
Previously pushing this button resulted in device/the Essence and the app to go to standby..
Now it does not seem to do anything – this screen stays so after having paused the playback.
The device itself is in standby, though – as I can see on a device that (still) has the old app.
I would have expected the app to reflect the standby status of the device it has been controlling.Question for Mr Andersen:
Is this meant to be so….or is it a bug or something that does not yet work correctly?Note:
The app is set to always on in the settings.MM

Yep, I too was finally coerced into installing beta 5.5.2. Not happy!

To my knowledge, this has never been available on the B&O App. In previous versions, you could click on the three dots icon in the play queue and it would give you two options: 1. to remove the track from the queue or, 2. to go to the artist. The latter option disappeared a few versions ago. No idea why. I have asked the B&O Development Team to put it back. Let’s see… Our only alternative is to do such searches in Deezer, add a given album to our Deezer favourites, and then use B&O to listen to it.
29 November 2023 at 21:20 #49207Thank you very much for taking the time to reply; really appreciated. Seems like an essential feature to me; hopefully they implement this in an upcoming version.
