I had a visit from a couple of my cousins yesterday and they dropped off some B&O for ‘repair’ 😀
I powered each up briefly yesterday.
On the left a BeoSound 3000 – I think the only problem is the doors being very slow to open. CD and radio worked well. I’ll strip it down, give it a good clean (remove white paint specks!) and replace the door drive belt at the least.
On the right BeoSound 4 with DAB. This seems pretty dead other than red standby light showing. The glass door opens, and moves further for CD loading as it should, but that’s about it! I can’t even put it in Service Menu. I have never worked on one of these before, so I had a quick search of the earlier forums and think there could be an ‘unrepairable’ problem with PCB06 (the main microprocessor board) so I don’t hold out much hope! (It’s not a PIN problem – I do have the PIN but it is not being requested, and I an unable to enter the PIN menu)
Anyway, I won’t have any time to look at either until September, so I will get back to the forum to let you know how I get on …
