CharlieWednesdayGOLD MemberI’ve got a Beocom 2 desktop charging base where the connections, the bit inside the hollow where the phone sits, has cracked and sits too low so the contact is not made.
It looks like it would be easily glued, but to do that I need to open it up, and I can’t figure out how to do that! I’ve tried to jimmy it open but the bottom won’t come off, and I’m afraid if I push too hard I’ll only cause further damage. I can’t see any obvious clips or screws that are holding it in place

ModeratorLuckily, when I destroyed mine I took some photos:
From the bottom, I think if you slide something very thin up between the plastic tab and the metal weight, you may be able to unclip the three plastic base tabs inwards so that they release out of the weight, thus exposing the screws that enable you to proceed further.-

ModeratorHere’s my intact one to help explain.I think inserting something very thin into each of the three gaps (arrowed) between plastic clips and metal weight should release the base. Maybe cut up a bank card?-

Happy to say I got the bottom off, used some plastic glue to fix the break, reassembled, and it’s working. It’s looking a bit worn as these bases often do, but at least it’s working.

Good stuff. The base that I broke up was awful – really stick black plastic that almost crumbled and made a mess every time I touched it. Luckily I found another base with a ‘broken’ BC2, and used that as part of my final setup.
