    Hi all,

I currently have my Beocenter 2 connected to my Beovision 11 with a digital coax cable for CD playback, and an AUX lead into the AV input on the BV11 for DAB and FM radio.

Overall, this setup works very well — CD audio over the digital output sounds excellent. However, I’m experiencing an issue with the Beo4 remote not being remembered by the Beocenter 2.

Every time the BC2 is powered off, I have to reconfigure the Beo4; otherwise, the BC2 won’t respond to the remote at all. I have to repeat the following steps on every power-up:

    • On the Beo4, press and hold [LIST] and [Power/Standby] (red dot) together until “ADD?” or “OPTION?”appears

    • Press [LIST] until “OPTION?” is shown, then press [GO]

    • Press [LIST] until “A.OPT” (Audio Option) appears

The problem is that this setting never seems to be retained.

I’m wondering whether the BC2 has some kind of PRAM or backup battery (possibly in the socket box) that may have failed. Someone on Facebook also suggested it could be similar to the Beocenter 9000, where remote functionality is disabled if no Power Link speakers are connected.

I’m not sure which (if either) is correct, as the manual doesn’t mention this behaviour at all.

    Any insight would be appreciated.

This sounds kind of familiar to me. It has happend more that a few times that my Beocenter 2 would not react to remote commands and I had to do the options settings to get it to react. I have also thought about the possibility that it could be an internal battery, but I have yet to come to investegate it since it is not used daily in any kind of way.

I have not had the thought about the Powerlink speaker being connected/ not connected, and I can not remember in which situations it was setup when I had these issues. I can however try to se if I can replicate it with and without speakers connected. Maybe tomorrow if time allows it
