30 October 2025 at 03:40 #70770Chris Barker BRONZE MemberHello all OK – I’ve gone through the forums with this one, but seem to have got a bit stuck on pairing the above was given a Century with a Beo 4 remote ( no serial number) -was supposed to be working with remote ä few years ago… Century working ok ( except tape transport) – but remote not talking. Remote has IR flash coming from it ( via camera phone verification) So – thought IR module capacitors were bust – so ordered new from D SParts, and fitted today. but still no joy Century does flash 1 ( once) if I do the – Power sound 1 store – routine. Have reset remote ( i think) have removed batteries and powered down both units for half h and restarted – no joy. what next? Is the IR sensor in the Century supposed to flash at any point? – can’t see that happening via phone camera..but most prob just a receiver…? Cheers 30 October 2025 at 07:03 #70771Is it possible your Beosound Century is in Audio Option 0? On your Beo4 hold down Standby and press List, then scroll to Option?, then scroll to A.Opt, then press 1. This will ensure the Century is in ‘Receive IR Commands’ mode. No it doesn’t. It’s just a receiver. Cheers -yes – have done that – still no joy. – the display reverts to standard once you press 1 – should it flash? The Beo4 display doesn’t ‘flash’ – it just reverts to normal. The Century’s power light should flash as you press 1, to signify that it has accepted the instruction. Is your Beo4 standard or perhaps a hotel version? Is it one of these (all or which should work), and if so which? 31 October 2025 at 12:26 #70821 Moderator Moderatoris the Beo4 set to option 4 operation only? I presume that’s the same as Permanent LINK mode? I was going to suggest checking that next! But this is cleared when batteries are removed (which Chris had tried). Location: Warwickshire, UK My B&O Icons:
