BRONZE MemberDear All .
I have been reading som much these days in order to understand what could be going on.
I have one Beovision 7/40 MK1 upgraded with a DVB Tuner for the HD Channels ( useless again due to new codecs)
Purpose is to use an appleTV connected to the DVI and the audio to the rca.As of know I have only been able get an HDMI splitter to YPbPr, and this way works, but quality can be much much better if using the DVI.
Issue is that I can’t see DVI-I in the HDTV option anther the AV menu.
I have read that this could be due to the fact that the DVB tuner is using this entry internally ( no cables on the outside ), and therefore there DVI is reserved for this, and can’t be chosen in the HDTV option as @ravsted suggests here.
Unfortunately, I can’t see any option to disable this, as in the service menu, when select DTV, only displays info version. …. maybe @69er can help here to guide us….I have also added PC in the Beo4, but nothing happens, as I definitely believe that
Any hint is very Wellcome!
5 October 2025 at 12:19 #70164ModeratorHi and welcome to Beoworld – hopefully we can help!
Firstly, it should be the CONNECTIONS menu (under OPTIONS) where you tell the TV what is connected, what input to select on Beo4 to use it (DVD, V.MEM etc) and what digital input to use – DVI. Have you followed the procedure in the User Manual, and if so is your User Manual specific to the type of BV7 that you are using, with the DVB module installed?
There are quite a few different SW versions of BV7, so it is difficult to know what might be in both the Service Menu and the normal user menu.
I have read that this could be due to the fact that the DVB tuner is using this entry internally ( no cables on the outside ), and therefore there DVI is reserved for this, and can’t be chosen in the HDTV option as @ravsted suggests here.
I don’t think that the internal DVB tuner would disable the DVI input – I have had a look at the DVB module installation guide and don’t see any mention of using DVI.
Unfortunately, I can’t see any option to disable this, as in the service menu, when select DTV, only displays info version. …. maybe @69er can help here to guide us….
Have you searched the rest of the Service Menu? Maybe a Tuner Setup page?
Alternatively, some of the later BV7s had a TUNER SETUP menu in the main (not service) menu under OPTIONS, where it was possible to turn off the DVB tuner. Have a thorough search there.

I must contradict you, I fear.
It is however, a long time ago, but if I recall well:
At some point with the BV7 MK1 B&O used the so-called ‘DVI-solution’ for the HD-tuner…..because it offered a better PQ.
This was indeed ‘internal connected’.I know of no solution to revert this, apart from opening the tv etc.
@Alcy.
There are plenty of BV7 later MK-versions to get at a very low price…..so why worry with this dinosaur.
Except – of course – you like tingling and solving problems 😉😀P.S.
There are more knowledgeable people on this subject than me – the only problem will be, if they are present on the forum nowadays.

This was indeed ‘internal connected’.No worries MM, you may well be right about the internal DVI. Most of my knowledge is based upon my own BV6 and BV10 ownership, I ‘ve never owned a BV7.
@Alcy’s BV7-40 is indeed a Mk1, so that could well be the problem.
